(Sometimes NZ gets Steam games before the US, but sometimes we get games a couple days later due to staggered international release scheduling. We got lucky with Far Cry 4.)
And there are two kinds of cutscenes Vince. The first is the one you talk about like in FC3, the other one, like the intro video, is a recorded movie file in the game engine, but not a live rendering cutscene. With a lot of tearing btw.
You should do your research before accusing people of lying (or piracy). Try using a VPN to access Steam through a New Zealand IP and see for yourself. You might even get to play the game earlier than your neighbors. You're welcome.
