It's not a port. Released at the same time as it did for consoles.

Anyone else who knows better can answer please ?

Its a perfect PC-game nothing feels weird so far. I had no issues (I haven't played long yet but still ^^) I would get it.

Your question is invalid. A port would mean that it was designed for consoles and later redesigned for PC. This game was built for PC as well as console, so everything is scropted to loor and work properly on a computer.

To answer your question. It has a few problems. Bad microstutter even if not in SLi/Crossfire config. This IS OBVIOUSLY a port. Ubisoft fails again for it's PC customers. I just bought the game myself, luckily it was on sale for $35. There are a few workarounds for the stutter though. Just google it. I'm running it on Ultra right now with a little stutter, but not as much as normal. I doubt Ubi will fix these problems, just like they never did with Watch_Dogs. This will be the last game I ever buy from them. Every game they release has the same problem. It's obvious they don't care.

That's what I was worried about, did you try the v-sync for the stutter ? and what about the mouse movment ?

I'm using a 660 and i5 and tweaked the graphics settings a bit and got it to run smooth and still look great. All you have to do is turn a couple setings down a notch or two. Imo the game is to much fun to pass up over shadows and tree leaves.

Ubisoft Keiv handled the PORT of this game. it has serious issues, Core 3 usage is 100% and other cores get scraps. The frametiming is all messed up, starts spiking when stuttering is seen. cannot run full quality textures without stutter, does not use more than 2.5gb vram. extra textures stored on windows pagefile. causes stutter.

changing the game in these ways makes it sort of bearable
use buffered frames (1,2,3, or 4 depedning on gpu)
disable mipmaping
unpark cpu cores
force farcry 4 to not use large page files
disable uplay overlay
use riva tuner to limit framerate to 30
when the game boots uncheck core 3 ( 2 in the task manager cause it starts at 0)
then re check it

does this sound like a proper pc game?

OH and wired contorllers force the game to not finish loading screens. wireless ones work....

Literally playing fine right now with a WIRED controller. so how much of your other statements shall we throw out as not true?
hellstorm102 Apr 21, 2015 @ 4:53pm
ok. glad its working for you
mine isnt. i have to use wireless xbox 360

i have had a ton of issues on 2 rigs so far. if you can help. then help, theres no reason to pick apart my statement. theres lots of other people having issues with their wired controllers, a quick forum search can show you.

Listen to yourself. Just because they were released first doesn't mean that they were made at the same time. They could have made a console version and ported it to PC and released them at the same time. As long as the PC version was made chronologically later, regardless of release, and from the console version it still counts as a port.

My rig definitely does not suck and it stutters even on the lowest settings. The forums on steam and Ubi are full of people having this problem. You may be one of the people who don't mind the stutter and lag, but that doesn't mean it's not there.
-=SOF=-WID99 Apr 21, 2015 @ 5:37pm
never said your rig sucks i said mine does ...........dude there is no stutter on my system .. NONE everyone claims that since they have the issiue everyone does .. thats NOT the case ....

i do not use a windows page file you dont need it if you have 8 gig or more of ram

i see no stutter or lag @ 1080 P on my system if i set everything to ultra yea its gonna stutter
unless you have SLI 980's

i also do not use that crappy geforce experience software to optimize my game to me its a waste of Space and i can clearly set my in game settings to how i wanna play a game .. takes only a couple of min to set up a game to look good and find out what works best for your rig

there was a guy named schumy that posted on here and said the same thing you do ..that it stutters on everyones system .. know what his stutter issiue was his rig ..and he fixed it
