Buying Maps

Is it a good idea to buy maps in the game. Like South Kyrat Masks, Locations, etc.? Or do maps open with Mission completions similar to weapons becoming available?

The description of each map and purpose wont be made available by any other means, so yes, eventually buying every map when you can afford is a good idea.

Beginning from the South, buying maps regarding this area will help fund your new beginnings journeying through Kyrat. Later on once the world map opens up more, think about expanding your maps throughout the region, to save money. If you can afford right away, theres plenty of loot to collect so, patience is all that is needed if you wanted to buy most (unlocked maps) straight off.

Buy all maps.
Also to max out all weapons and buy everything for them you need to collect alot of loot.
Too bad getting all masks does absolutely nothing worthwhile as i never used those allied fighters that your karma points give.

I only bought the maps, so i had room to sell the loot i got.
