Bug or am I doing something wrong with throwables?

I prefer to use the throwing knives so I set them as my go to via mouse wheel. As long as I am using them they stay knives. If more than 10 seconds goes by without throwing a knife the throw button throws a grenade or molotov instead. There is no indication in game of this changing it just does. Is this a known issue? If so I have no need to expect it to be fixed. But if there is a known throw knife button I have no problems reconfiguring my key bindings.

Edit: I have this on Uplay but as with ubi bugs, their forums are horrible too.

its because if you scroll your mouse wheel it changes your throwable

use your number keys i think 5 is knife .. or was that grenade ..i forget i think you can unbind the mouse wheel tho in the games controls i gotta check ..as i do the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sometimes and dont relize i scrolled the mouse wheel and instead of hitting the bad guy with a knife i whip a hunk of meat at him from time to time

but yes your number keys are bound already for your throwables in case you never noticed

yea it works i just set the cycle throwable to my P key then use 7 to select a throwing knife

5 = nade

6 = molotov

7 = throwing Knife

8 = bait

(these are the default keys by the way i never set them only key bind i had to change was cycle throwable )

and i still throw useing the press mouse wheel down

Thx will do that. I know I am not hitting my mouse wheel but maybe because that is allowed something fishy is happening with my game. Mouse software issue then. lol.

Thx again. Mouse wheel down? That sounds vaguely familiar. I changed that to F a while ago, but will still take heed. Will rebind throwing knife to V so I can make sure it is equipped. Thx again.

dont use V :eek that key is in use for calling reinforcments find a key you dont use alot thats not used in the game

you could also use a mouse button if like me you have a 5 button mouse

i set my reload as my mouse button 4 for instance

and cycle throwables ALSO = YOUR ZOOM KEY for the camera ..but i never zoom out anyway usually just zoom in to see so changeing that key will affect the sniper rifle zoom as well as your camera

by default select your throwing knife is set to the number 7 key right above your Y key already

you already by default have the throwables set to the number keys just it does not mention that fact anywhere in the game .. i found it the second day i had the game ..i just keep forgetting to re bind that select throwable key ..thank you for reminding me tonight :)

as i am sick of throwing hunks of bait at the bad guys..or wipping a molotov and setting my self on fire

Lol I did choose a key I don't use. I never once used guns for hire. 3rd playthrough atm on hard. Doing a 100% stealth run.

good point i dont think i ever used them either .. another thing i keep forgetting is in the game

i reset that cycle throwable/ zoom again now to mouse 5 seems comfy for me

but thanks again for reminding me to change that setting

i wish they would seperate those functions so you could still zoom with the scroll wheel

maybe i'll put in a support ticket and see if its possible in a future patch
