I played through most of the game with my old GTX 660 and no problems. Then I upgraded to a 970, didn't play it long, but didn't have any crashes. THEN I upgraded to a 980. Can't play an hour without a crash. :(

Hey everyone,
If you have not done so already, please submit your msinfo and dxdiag to the tech team so we may look into this. You may attach the files to Support here: https://support.ubi.com
In the meantime, please check that all other drivers are up to date in the meantime.

Just sent it to the guys at ubisoft. thanks for the continued support for such a great game!

I have played FC4 for more than 70 hours and haven't experienced a single crash, however with the release of the 1.7 patch it is crashing every single time I play for 3-5 minutes, everything just stops responding, black screen. Updated to 1.8 today and still no improvement. My graphic drivers are up to date. I have a gtx 660 ti. I still think it is an awesome game, but I just can't play it for more than 3-5 minutes without it crashing.

Good to hear, Fireseed and thank you for that update, WidowMaker. If you haven't done so, could you also try checking the game integrity ? I would also have you submit the findings in a ticket so we can investigate this properly for you.

I've checked the game integrity and it still crashes.

Nvidia GTX 660 Ti. But like I said as I updated to 1.7, it started crashing. Still very satisfied with graphics card.

yea well that rules out an nvida card for me then .. i'll stick with AMD for my next build
as i have seen soo many posts about issiues with the nvidia cards and drivers

and my AMD cards run the game great hell i acually only had an HD 7750 1 gig card in for the first 3 weeks this game was out ..and still had not a single crash

got the r 9 270x in the second week of December

your 660ti should be able to handle the game tho with its number of pixel and vertex shaders

but not at the highest settings

more info on your GPU can be found here if your intrested in compareing GPU features toward your next vid card

http://pclinks.xtreemhost.com/video.htm

your card is very close to mine as far as performance ..beats me in shaders ..but slower in mem bandwitdh

have ya checked to see if there is a video bios update for your card ?

as i know my R 9 270 X even right out of the box needed one ..you'd find that at the manufacturers site
then i did a clean install of the updated AMD drivers and i know they say on Nvidia cards you should use ddu and always go with a clean install of your drivers

I have submitted a ticket, I hope it helps. I have a gtx 980 and its a beast card. I do play fc4 with everything on max, even the simulated fur. my card can do this and maintain 60 fps. Its possible these are causing the crashes, but they are settings in the game and should work. I have always been an nvidia fan. Before the last fc4 update I played the game with zero crashes. There was also an nvidia update recently. who knows lol

I have a brand new Digital Storm PC with an nVidia GTX 980. All my game run beautifully, so did this...until recently. Lately it's started to crash randomly. Sometime it crashes every 5-10 minutes and sometime it'll crash 2 hours into the game. Very frustrating. The game has become unplayable!!! Ubisoft & nVidia - PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

Had this exact issue fellas. Try this.

-Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Far Cry 4 and find FarCry4.dll

-Delete FarCry4.dll

-Verify your files through Steam or Uplay

-It will tell you the game needs to be repaired and will download the file. Playing solid for 2 hours now after getting random crashing on my GTX 980.

Hello. I've submitted my ticket to support on Ubisoft's site as well, including my dxdiag and msinfo dumps.

ggreen737, I will try what you said and report back!
