Verified my files on Steam
Reinstalled the game
Rebooted PC
Scouring the internet
Drop kicked my computer
go to your task bar and exit out of all apps before you launch the game
only thing i have there is geforce EXP i exit that before i play most of the time its pretty useless software IMO
only thing i have loaded in the backround are
Steam and Uplay and Avast Antivirus
the nvidia driver your useing is old and predates the windows 10 release
as is your GPU and a GTX 560 is about the same as a good GTX460 they are damn similar so lower your graphics settings and dont try running the game with ultra textures and settings your card cant handle it most likely
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-560/specifications
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-460/specifications
its not like you have a GTX 760 or 960 in there after all ..your card is several generations old
i have been running the game here on win 10 64 Pro 64 bit with no issiues on an asus strix gtx 960 with the current drivers 355.60
i did not use Geforce Exp to optimize my game
also do not use any of the nvidia game works settings .. they will crash the game 9 times out of ten !!
they got broken in any driver past win 7 344 drivers for many people
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/799274/geforce-drivers/nvlddmkm-keep-crashing-in-far-cry-4/
these include HBAO+ (NVIDIA Ambient Occlusion), Enhanced Godrays (NVIDIA Godrays), Soft Shadows (NVIDIA PCSS), Simulated Fur (NVIDIA Hairworks) and TXAA (NVIDIA Anti-Aliasing).
it seems that helps many to run the game under Windows 10
I did notice that the Nvidia optimum settings crash the game.
Ive been running on medium settings at decent FPS seemingly ok
I've monitored the system while running the game with afterburner and an onboard temp gauge on the rig
I'll update my drivers and such immediately.
I'll be updating to probably the GTX 950 tomorrow when it supposedly releases
Thank you so much for you're pointers. I will try all of this and if something works i will get back to you and the thread for others.
I played this game for 2 hrs this morning without an issue.
I've played it for about 40 hrs otherwise. It DID work at alot of points.
But for this error i have found no workaround.
Again, thank you
right click your steam .exe and select run as administrator
then verify your game files for best results.... do the same with your u play.exe
also on the GTX 950 ? id wait till ya got enough for the Asus Strix GTX 960 its a smaller card plus still only requires one 6 pin power connector and come with a nice stock overclock as well as a backplate and a nice cooler
https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics_Cards/STRIXGTX960DC2OC2GD5/
i'm damn happy with the way my Asus Strix GTX 960 performs and i'm running it @ stock speed (slight facory overclock) 1228 with a boost clock of 1291 mhz
(standard GTX 960 core speed is 1126)
http://pclinks.xtreemhost.com/video.htm
but the asus software will auto clock it up if i select game mode with the asus GPU tweak II tool the card comes with
then the boost clock speed is 1337 with the memory running @ 7200 with a lil room to go higher
and the fans will auto shut off when not needed so it runs real quiet when not gameing
so its worth the extra 50 bucks over the GTX 950 from what i have been reading .. that card should release this week http://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-gtx-950-images-and-specs-leak/
Honestly my budget is high enough, i just also want to get a new processor and a new motherboard in this thing soon too.
I may just go with a 980 sc stock and just wait a month or so then get a higher end i5.
Any other suggestions? i'm like a spounge for this stuff atm lol.
Also i updated driver and verified my files through steam only, still not working.
I will keep trying though, still more things to run through
you said your running Afterburner ? umm that program can make the game fail to launch .. until you configure it in some cases

Reinstalling it alone didnt seem to do this, but i found the folder of which that file was in. I deleted that entire folder, emptied it out of my recycling bin.
Then i uninstalled the game manually, then reinstalled through uplay. And now its working.
I ran uplay as admin also, same with steam.
Thank you homie. No more Afterburner
Also i've decided to go with this card tomorrow.

If you think there is something better in this price range, school me. I'm the newb here lol
I've seen you all over the msg boards so i know that you know what you're talking about.
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-980-vs-GeForce-GTX-560-Ti
i wanted to go with one but i'm still useing a 7 yr old motherboard and CPU (asus P5 B with 8 gig of DDR2 / 800 and an Intel Core 2 quad Q6600 @ 2.4 ghz)
so it would bottleneck a 970 or 980 i'm sure and i could not justify the expense
for now the GTX 960 is fine for me as i dont plan on gameing in 4 k
1080 P is fine for me on my 40 inch HDTV with what i have
and this old Intel Q6600 has performed like a tank for many years and i have not even needed to overclock it yet .. i can pick up a Q9550 for $50 or Q9650 if i need to and pop it in this old Asus P5B
or just build a new system with an I 5 down the road
waiting to see what AMD does with the Fury Nano till i decide my next build
anyway glad you found your fix and good luck with the GTX 980
