Start FC4 > wait till main opening game menu > Ctrl, Alt, Del = task manager > Details > find farcry4.exe (should be alphabetical) > right click > set affinity > uncheck all but four cpu cores. Go back to FC4.
For me since I have an I7 CPU, I unchecked cores 0-3 and left cores 4-7 checked. Other people in chats stated that core 0 causes some issue with FPS and that when unchecked they saw a raise in FPS. I couldn’t care less for the freezing went away for me.
* You’ll have to do this Every time you play the game unless you write your own batch file, didn’t know how to do that myself, or trust some of the free software that’ll save your cpu core selection for you, which I didn’t trust myself. You can google software if you’re interested but for me, a simple 40 sec fix works just fine for me.
This game is unable to manage more than 4 cores. Incredible
