Best way to hunt devil fish?

I need some Devil Fish skins to make something, but i have no weapons that work underwater. Iv tried grenading then, or luring them to the side and knifing them. Nothing seems to work tho. I found the one skn i have in a tiny lake somewhere with such shallow water i could see and shoot the fish. Anyone know where that is?

I saw harpoons in the ammo aswell, is there a harpoon gun, or they for bow?

Im only about halfway through the story aswell if that makes any difference. Any help much apriciated :)

use arrows

you do not get the harpoon gun till late in the game , you have to do all the Hurk missions
the first Special crafing mission you have to kill the one with explosives that Mr Ciffon asks you to get .. there is a near by cave that has several demon fish that to can shoot with an arrow to finish your crafting

Thanks, the only special skin mission iv done is kill a rhino with a shotgun, gonna lookfor more now and find explosive one :)

Grenades will work under the right circumstances, as will the grenade launcher. Usually easier if looking down from a higher vantage point and you can go down jump in the water and skin them.

I kill one with a grenade early in this clip. You just have to watch where they land if you are close to the waters edge.

The water doesn't block bullets or anything so shoot them from the shore. Use the tracking to spot them.

If your water settings are on high you should be able to see them as they come to the surface then shoot them with whatever you feel like. From the copter they stick out like a sore thumb. If you're in the water you can mash keys when prompted.

Getting up on a higher cliff and shotgun them. The water opacity is higher from higher places so the fish can be seen further away.

Best way I found is going to the lake in the beginning area by the pond, craft a bunch of hunter syringes so you can see the little bastards, than get on a boat and sail around looking for a victim; than unload on them with a machine gun. They can take a lot of rounds if you aren't accurate so I'd take some kind of LMG. You only need them to craft 1 item so once you got your four skins you're done.

I just shot 'em with arrows. Once tagged, they aren't hard to hit. Water doesn't seem to really slow projectiles.

Arrows is the best thing ! if you want to make it easy like to hunt the rare devil fish use grenades or explosive arrows... because the rare devil fish cant be killed with normal arrows... i dont use the seringe for the devil fish they are easy to spot... but if you have some trouble you can use it...
