Game will not autosave, nor manually save... game gets stuck. Death results in... "stuck".

Same as the title. The game refuses to properly save, and when I die I find myself sitting at a black screen. I have scoured the forums and found only things I have already tried, such as disabling cloud saves and whatnot. Any advice?

Launch Steam as well as Uplay as Run As Administrator

Also Verify your game files

i just started a new game ,, you can not save until you reach the first village at Banapaur
once there go in the safe house and you can create a save point

you can not save in the middle of any mission , if you can not complete the mission your on press escape and select abandon mission (it will not save your mission progress you must complete the mission your on )

always use fast travel to sa safe house then make you save ponts .. FarCry 3 worked the same way .. you must complete the games Prolouge and you can not save in the middile of a mission

make sure you PC meets the games Minimum system requirements

I run Uplay and Steam as Administrator.

Files verified.

I am halfway through the game, and all of a sudden it is stuck in an infinite autosave loop. You cannot save anywhere because of this.

I am painfully aware of the limitations of saving during missions in all Far Cry games.

My PC blows the requirements out of the water.

The issues being had are that of some kind of save game loop. When you die, it remains at a black screen until you force close the game. You cannot save - nor save and quit because the game gets stuck due to the infinite "auto save".

never saw that here i played thru the game over a dozen times on 3 different systems

sounds like you have a corrupted save file

only way to fix it is delete your save and keep the silly Uplay could save sycronization option off (open uplay settings and untick the option to use it )

if you delete your save you do not have to start over again

download the backed up save files Akunamatta let me post in the Troubleshooting tips section
his backed up saves cover about 90 % of the game and i'm sure one from his archive will put you close to back where you were in the game

just copy and paste one of his 856 folders where it need to go
C:| program files X 86 \ Ubisoft \ubisoft game launcher \ savegames \*folder with a long series of letters and numbers \ 856 iis the far cry 4 save folder

other then that contact Ubisoft support .. but they will probably just tell you to reinstall the game

yea try akuna's saves they worked fine here i tested em for him

that way you wont lose that much progress and have to start from scratch

that Uplay cloud setting screwed me in FarCry 3 a few years ago .. some times if you lose connection or crash you can end up with a corrupted save file

was playing the game fine when my power went out .. when it came back on my save was corrupted ..only way to fix it was delete the saved game folder and start the game again

at least with FC4 you can use other peoples save files (at least they worked fine here )

Hm... just tried this. The saving mechanism still wont operate properly. I'm reading elsewhere it was a recent patch that botched saving. I sure as ♥♥♥♥ hope not.

dont know about that i have the most recent version of Steam , Uplay and FarCry 4
bought FarCry 4 the night it shipped on Nov 18 2014 and have 3 different PC's here
runs fine and saves fine on all 3

do you have any controllers plugged in ?

the Xbox game pads can throw off scripted events of the game

if you have a controller plugged in unplug it and try the game with just a KB + Mouse

i never had a problem but my game pad is a Logitech ..and i do not own an X box or a controller for one

make sure your launching Steam as an Administrator too when you do a file verify . i have helped quite a few people in the past year that had to do a file verify up to 3 times till Steam finaly detected and found the game was indeed ...... missing files

I only play using mouse and keyboard. Just uninstalled, and now re-installing. Hopefully that helps.

yea check your backround apps too .. its possible your antivirus or firewall could be blocking the connection with Uplay if its trying to sync up with the servers

i do reccomend everyone shut off that Uplay cloud save option ..it causes more problems then its worth

and you can always manually back up your save files if you need to move to a new PC

i use Win 10 Pro 64 bit here and have Zero backround apps running other then my Avast antivirus in silent gameing mode

when i ran with Windows 7 i also tried to keep everything off behind the game other then Uplay ,Steam and Avast

if you have Windows 10 yea always launch Uplay as well as Steam as run as Administrator
that change may be needed since windows 10 handles file seciurity really tight and all your save files do get written to a program location and it could just be Win 10 won't let it write the save files ? dunno i always launched it as an Admin under Windows 10

i had no problem saving far cry 4 but the yeti expansion sending me back to begining its frustrating. any ideas?
