Map browser????

Since September 8 2023 I cannot quick play any maps when I go into the map browser. I get the far cry 4 service is not available. Have ubisoft shut down a server or is it my ISPs crap routing. Everything else works fine but the only part of Far Cry 4 that still interests me is browsing and playing new maps.

Same with me and two other people I play with. I still make custom maps, so this really sucks.

Shame, I can only play maps i have downloaded, in the Editor. That means solo only. I can play the actual game with another player but, for how long? Are they killing the game? I miss playing all the great Custom Maps.

Sad. While these games routinely go on sale under $10, there are still people paying full price and not getting full functionality. And it shows little care for the legacy of an iconic game franchise to stop maintaining them into the future.

As far as I know, campaign-ish coop still works. Custom map coop doesn't. At the risk of rewarding the devs for this face-slap, would love to see the game remastered and full support resurrected. To me, 5 and 6 were duds, 4 kind of overtook 3, and 2 lacked only coop.

Got this from Ubisoft support on this matter.

We appreciate you for reaching out to us and reporting this issue. We have now stopped post-launch support on this game, as our development team has moved on to other projects.

We have no further updates planned for this title, so this issue will most likely remain in the game. We hope you will still be able to enjoy your time playing and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I wish the MP interface could be modified to allow a host to invite a coop friend to play a map saved on his own system, whether is was created by the host or downloaded from a fan forum. As bleak as this looks, I still can't help grinding away on new maps.

Today, I was able to play custom maps in coop, at least from the favorites list. Searching on author also seemed to work. Some categories still don't work, and I still can't upload new maps I made, but at least I can play some coop again.

Yes, it looks like the services are back online, at least for PC.

This may be a long shot, but in the off chance that services may go down later on, yet you can still access your favorites: make sure you have the map named "MapSwapper" added to your favorites.

Because if the game can still support playing an online session from a bookmarked map, and if my MapSwapper project still works, you could potentially still play other maps too, through my MapSwapper service[maps.farcry.eu].

Not sure. While the services are back, the last map uploaded is dated 2023-09-07, which was just before this outage started.

I know someone allegedly published a map in November 2023, but it isn't showing on the map services. So publishing maps may be down, even if the editor won't give notice about it.
