However, downloading those maps happens through the game, so the servers need to be online. Unless you find a map someone uploaded online, e.g. at https://www.nexusmods.com/farcry4/mods/79?tab=files :P
- All My Maps shows the fc4map files from your %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\{YOUR_UPLAY_HASH}\user maps folder. These are the maps you saved in the Map Editor.
- Downloaded Maps shows the fc4map files from your %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\{YOUR_UPLAY_HASH}\download maps folder. These are the maps you saved and downloaded through the game.
Mapfiles can be placed in either of those locations, and can then be played offline. To download a map from the game, you'll have to connect to the Map Browser, find a map you want to download, select it and choose "Download". After downloading it will be in your download folder, and the map can then be played as a local map offline.Any map you just "played" without explicitly downloading them through the game interface will have its data copied to your %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\{YOUR_UPLAY_HASH}\download maps\cache folder. Unfortunately, these cached maps files aren't directly compatible with the local map browser because the files lack some data like the map thumbnail. Theoretically they can be made to load in the game, but AFAIK no mod tools exist to fix them in that way.
So, if you can't reach the Ubisoft online services, you'll have to depend on third-party sources to find map files. There are some on Nexusmods and Playground.ru.
I think it would be a shame if all those Far Cry 4 maps were lost in time... Some of them were really good! :)
So, get your maps while the services are back online! :)
Steam modifies the link after the window to navigate to an external site. But now this utility is really not needed, it is better to download all the maps now, because... The service has already dropped a couple of times.
