Yogi and Reggie - why???
Ok. Honest question. Hoping for a discussion.

What the hell is the point Ubisoft wanted by throwing in those freeloading druggy hipsters? They are the most annoying, worthless, irritating characters in recent memory. Why the f*** doesn't Ajay just pop them? All they do is knock him out with drugs and live on his family property.

Seriously though. From a writing standpoint, what do they bring? Do they play a role in the overarching plot? Do they somehow help Ajay in the conclusion? Because I'm not seeing any reason why they are included (aside from introducing the player to syringes)

I do agree Ajay should have punched em once or twice for stabing him abruptly with a needle, but the squatting thing...ehhhhh I dont blame em its a nice place, but they should have made em sell you entire syringes of super versions of the craftable syringes(like their quest) when done. Otherwise I find them to be funny(if slightly irritating)sub characters with some hilariously fun(if short) quest.

I felt like they were there to introduce various chems to you and said chems were cut from the game, or their implementation of this introduction was cut from the game.

I think Yogi and Reggie are great, a couple of crazy characters that introduce some extra missions but after they give you a smoke and inject you with who knows what before you do them. Intitially I would admit I thought them unneccessary but they add a bit of levity to an otherwise serious set of circumstances, they are there for fun and nothing else. You consume drugs at different times in FC3 as well, but it is all part of the storyline and again not meant to be taken too seriously.

They do little more than the 'Hurk' missions in FC3+4 but will give you some lighter entertainment and should be enjoyed accordingly. In FC Primal you have to drink some pathetic looking stuff based on collected blood samples (from what I have no idea) and then you do a number of missions again in some sort of drug effected state.

Primal then adds a fellow by the name of 'Urki' (a Hurk type person), who is a complete idiot but you will laugh yourself silly when you get to know him.

I do not believe for one minute that the plan was to introduce anyone to any chems or drugs at any time. I have no idea where that dumb thought came from!

Put a couple of hundred hours into these games and enjoy all that they have to offer, they are amazing.....At least IMO.....

The missions were godddamn I annoying. You had to start from the very beginning until you reached the near end when you got to the second and last checkpoint if you died, which I did a lot

Yeah, Yogi and Reggie are total and utter wankers, but you do find those types in that part of the world, so it's not actually unrealistic. And if you find them annoying, just think about what the TibetiansKyrati think.

I agree. It just goes to prove what the developers are into and how they think. There are way too many games that promote drugs, needless swearing, alcoholism and the like. Sure, we get them in movies, but we can limit what our kids see in movies. For games, it's not quite as easy. "Hey dad, I want this kids game" "Ok, son." Turns out that "kids game" has profanity, drugs and alcohol in it in a subtle way. The Far Cry games are a given, however. You know there is going to be violence, drugs, alcohol, profanity and everything else these developers love.

These games are all age limited and I can't understand any parent allowing their kids to play these.....They were never designed for children.

I'm glad this thread still has life in it, and I appreciate the commentary it got. Thanks y'all
he can't shoot them because in the cutscene his 1911's hammer in in the forward position, rendering him physically unable to shoot them, unless he ♥♥♥♥♥ it manually, which he never does

Drugs have played a big part in all Far Cry games since Ubisoft took over.

Far Cry 3 - Marijuana fields and hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Far Cry 4 - Opium crops and yogi/reggie
Far cry 5 - "Bliss plants" (Scopolamine) and "oregano" etc

Basically it's clear that Ubisoft are a very "pro drug" company. (Amongst other things...).

They really like annoying hipster-hackers too. Assassins Creed, Splinter Cell Blacklist....
Is it possible to skip their missions?
Or are those drug intoxication missions obligatory if you want to finish the campaign?

you do not need to interact with them beyond the first and second meetings
the naked arena brawl, and the first trip to shangri-la are the only required Y&R missions

actually ya do need to play em all to get the pipe they give you at the last mission from them and reach the last scene , only then do the final cut scenes unlock on how to deal with amita and or sabal and see the ending screen where it says the END in sand script

then deal with it

remember game endings change dependent on who you pick to lead

and to see their vision of the future for the people of Kyrat , depending on who you chose to to support ..remember your told early in the game your choices carry weight

if you choose Amita go to Tirtha in the south

if you choose Sabal go to Jenlendu temple in the north
