which game is better far cry 3 or 4?

Idk, I didn't played it and probably won't play because of $hitty uplay system that is forcing me to download broken Ubisoft platforms, but I think that 4 seems to be better and bigger

There's zero important difference between the two, so it's purely down to taste.

They're both identical games with identical structure and identical gameplay, but 4 seems a little better than 3 from what i've played.

FC4 is much better than FC3. FC1 is unique and has nothing to do with the other games. FC2 is boring, FC3 is better than FC2, but still boring after a while, FC4 has a much better quality in game play. You can follow the story or walk, fly, swim, boat around on your own and detect the countryside. The locations are neat and I played it both ways. After I handled the king, I am now flying around and doing a mop up and still finding new and strange loacations. Best is playing around in Shangry La and finding the entry points.

for theme & environment fc4 better (maybe better than fc5 & new dawn) , & bring unusual asian himalaya as their background setting plus in fc4 added another shang ri la journey with different combat style. i wishes ubisoft add achievemnt for all far cry game into steam...

Far Cry 3 by far. Vaas was a very interesting character and really put Pagin Min to shame.

I'm going to say 4 is much better IMO, The background/scenery is much more enticing for me. But to each their own

far cry 3 is better because its classic.
in far cry 4 you have much more stuff but fc 3 is classic simple and better for me.

4 is better...... since you get the BUZZER mini heli and an M 79 nade launcher to rain down death from above with explosive rounds to take out trucks troops and yes even bases

plus makes moving around the map to get collectible things easier as well as take down towers

I enjoyed far cry 3 better than far cry 4. it's all down to play it and find out what you personally like the best.

This. though I also prefered 3. 4 I just cannot get into (a bit like the 2nd) on paper I should like it as much as 3. I just cannot get away with it. For me 2 and 4 are the weaker of the series. (followed by 6)

Far cry 3 has a deep and interesting story with a great portion of action.Also a great soundtrack.4 has less emotional story but enhanced gameplay and graphics.In fact Far cry 3 is the best part of the series.After 3 comes 5 which is great but less serious.Then New dawn which is a direct sequel to 5 but with a lame RPG-like gameplay.Then 2 which is the most realistic in the series.Then 4 which is a pure arcade but still enjoyable.Did not try 6 and Primal(yet).
Or to put it in another way/order:
Far cry 2-the most realistic in the series;
Far cry 3-the deepest and most mature story, mediocre gameplay,great soundtrack;
Far cry 4-acrade but enjoyable shooter;
Far cry 5-the most balanced and immersive Far cry with large map,loads of guns,a decent plot and fantastic soundtrack;
Far cry new dawn-a decent sequel to Far cry 5 with incredibly immersive postapocalyptic remains of Hope county, absolutely beautiful soundtrack,but also absolutely garbage grindy gameplay and in general it's rather a short DLC for Far cry 5 that continues the main storyline (but technically it's a separate game).Hope this helped,have fun!

FC3 settings is on a beach/tropical island, story is better.
FC4 settings is on mountains. story is meh so far. You can fly btw using mini heli.

I enjoyed FC4 more. 3 just has too many clunky unrefined mechanics, and a boring generic antagonist (Hoyt).
