I dunno who needs to hear this, but Far Cry 4 seems to be fully functional on Steam Deck.

not surprised FAR CRY 4 loads and works on the Steam Deck ..it shipped in 2014

i ran FAR CRY 4 here the day it shipped in 720 P on an old Intel core 2 quad Q 6600 @ 2.4 ghz and an Sapphire AMD HD 7750 1 gig GPU

so as long as ya have 4 cpu cores and a decent GPU the game will run

and i heard good things about the GPU they used in the steam deck , seems decent for low res play

I only say it's surprising because I expected the Ubisoft-flavored DRM would make it difficult to launch, but after you get logged into Uplay it should let you actually play the game. I did have to manually close the game and relaunch after logging in the first time, but the game is playable.

I can't even run the game on my Steam Deck, because I can't get a connection to Ubisoft Connect. I always get the "A Ubisoft service is currently unavailable" error, despite a stable connection with no proxy server enabled.

Ok, A: I've seen evidence of plenty of other people successfully running the game

B: This error message is a known issue outside of SD users, and is only related to Ubisoft Connect, not FC4 specifically

C: I was never even whining or expressing unrealistic expectations in my message. I'm simply noting a roadblock in my case, and hoping maybe someone knowledgeable might suggest a potential solution. Far Cry Primal, the best one, does not run on Steam Deck and I cannot get past the DRM. I do wish they would revisit this title and fix the compatibility.

Following up, I was able to get Far Cry Primal running by using a newer version of Proton.
