How good is the open world?

I'm a huge fan of open world games like Just Cause or GTA, and want to know how good the open world of this game is. Are there smooth biome transitions? Are there caves to explore or mountains to climb? Does it have a diverse ocean or will I be spending most of my time on land? And most importantly, does it feel like a real place? Just wondering, since the game looks beautiful and I'm a big fan of the later Far Cry games. Thanks!

The game is set in the fictional state of Kyrat that is comparable to our real world Nepal/northern India, so no ocean. If you've played either FC3 or 5 then you already know what to expect in the game.

I have played Far Cry 2, 3, 4 and 5. And I can say that Far Cry 4 is by far the worst of them all. I highly suggest you stay away from this one, and buy the others!

3 and 4 are more similar to each other than any of the other games are to each other, if you liked 3, odds are you'll like 4

You can ride Elephants and use wing-suits, almost everything in the game is trying to kill you. Hawks and honey badgers are deadly.

Same, I played every far cry and I had the most fun with fc4. I don't understand why most people hate fc4.

The amount of glitches in far cry 4 is FAR beyond the other games. Also a thing that annoys me is how the buzzer (helicopter) instakilles you if you land and the propellers touch you, making you have to fly all the way again. Also the way this game handles the "saving" making you lose a lof of progress everytime you die, is relaly bad. Another thing is how the wingsuit for some reason automatically activates if you sprint off a ledge.... this has killed me so many times, I have lost count. I try so sprint off a ledge to get to safety, only to get instakilled because my character activates the wingsuit a few meters above the ground.

Far cry 4 is mostly a copy of far cry 3 in terms of mechanics in the game, but it is just worse in every way.

I never encountered any of those problems, maybe you were just unlucky. For me, fc4 was fc3 but with more guns, better graphics, better open world and a better story.

Not everyone will encounter the same bugs. I didn't encounter any of this bugs and I finished the game 2 or 3 times. The cutscenes are not even that long, the only one that bothered me was the first one where you are in the bus, Pagan kidnaps you and then you eat dinner with him.

Dude Far Cry 5 is nothing like Far Cry 4. With 4 they just tried to copy far cry 3, but they failed big time! Then they made far cry 5 and fixed a lot of things and made the game actually playable. Checkmate idiot

Far Cry 4 Story is made like in one day, but has the good world too, but its not compared to FC3
Far Cry 5 complete ♥♥♥♥ with religious ♥♥♥♥, come on maybe gang or high level organization with bunch of mofos chasing u down the woods instead of some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cult and imagine that cult have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nuclear bomb to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blow the earth WTFFFF 1/10. And ill add that the FC5 ruined the series.

if anything, Far Cry 5 has got to be my favourite. realistic characters, huge open world, simple but great gun customization, and the story... I don't know if this is just me but the story had me in awe at the genius of the writers. I'm on my way to 100% the game at this rate of me playing it. most fun ive had in a long while.

I 100% agree. Far Cry 5 is the best of them all!
