I cannot play Far cry 4 because of Uplay...

I just bought and downloaded far cry 4 and wanted to try it out now. Of course it required me to login with uplay... For which i didn't have my password because it has been ages. I then asked to change my password but opening the link in the email i received sends me to a page that is stuck in an infinite loading loop.

Just one more reason why uplay is bad... If it doesn't work after a while i will have no choice but to ask for a refund.

you should have written down your E mail an password you used when your made your Uplay account

Steam works the same way .. of you lose your account login details you can not acess your games
your gonna have to contact Ubi Support .. this is best done by Phone or use twitter are the fastest options

please go to the Support site for your region and open a support ticket, try webchat or
initiate a phone call direct to support (if available for your region )
you can find phone number\ support options \ and support hours information @ https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/Contact#en-gb

my Ubisoft account is over 10 years old .. never had an issue with it , as i write down all e mail accounts aas well as passwords for ALL online accounts i create and keep them in a lil book near my PC ..not Uplays fault if you don't remember your account details

I agree to some degree that i should've kept my password (which i did somewhere but that one didn't work. I mightve changed it in between without correcting that). BUT! If you're going to have an extra drm platform, you need to make absolutely sure that it's working, and here it is not the case at all. It is ubisoft's job to make sure that it works properly, even if i forgot my password.

The problem i was talking about is that the password recovery DOES NOT WORK, so that is completely on ubisoft's end.

they do not constantly check the servers for password recovery .. you have to wait hours
+ you need to provide account ownership details

otherwise any one could steal anyones passwords just by knowing their e mail account

if you hammer their account revcovery server it probably locks your account after so many tries .. banks also work the same way as do CC and even my car insrance or Utility companies

call them on the PHONE or use twitter you can get back in your account within 20 to 30 min

also did you use the old version of Uplay that steam installed ? if so thats out of date and no longer works

and ... THATS A STEAM ISSUE

also UPLAY is the default DRM for the game

steam is added DRM

if you buy the game anywhere but no steam it only uses Uplay ..so its the default Digital DRM

1.if you buy the DVD version of the game it has 1 DRM ... UPLAY... no Steam involved

2.if you buy the game on AMAZON it has 1 DRM ... UPLAY.... no Steam involved

3.if you buy it direct from UBISOFT it has 1 DRM .. UPLAY ...no Steam involved

4.if you buy the game on greenman gameing it has 1 DRM .. UPLAY ....no Steam involved

5.if you buy the game on get games go it has 1 DRM ... UPLAY .. no Steam involved

6.if you buy the game on newegg it has 1 DRM ..UPLAY ...no Steam invloved

7.if you buy the game on gamers gate it has 1 DRM ... Uplay ...no Steam involved

if you buy it on Steam your forced into..2 DRM's - Steam + Uplay as your DRM's as both clients must be open to run the game
like it or not they will continue to use Uplay to distribute their games with as it is the default Digital platfom used on Ubisoft "Developed" titles

Ubisoft is the one that forced uplay upon their playerbase, they had steam before that. To me (and i'm assuming a lot of other people) it has only been frustrating. I don't see how it's the fault of people that are buying it... . Like i said... i'll refund it if it doesn't get solved, so it's their loss.

And what you said isn't even relevant to the problem... It's the fact that UPLAY doesn't even work properly.

uplay works perfectly here and there are over 3000 ppl in game right now on steam alone

again Steam is not the primary digitital distribution outlet for FarCry 3 4 Primal and far cry 5 Uplay is

dunno if you are aware but STEAM itself is DRM

valve charges a publisher a % of each sale to distribute games on Steam

buy a uplay only version it does not use steam at all

Valve also goes a step futher to lock you into only buying DLC for the game as they change tihe file install paths for not only the game but your save files too , so if you buy the game over steam .. you MUST buy your DLC on steam for it to work

uplay only versions of the DLC will not fully unlock on a steam version

steam is the only site that does that

as other uplay digital partner sites only sell the Uplay only version .. and ALL dvd copies are Uplay only version \


so go on hating Uplay .. its working perfect here , and for over 3000 other people that bought the game on Steam right now

right now steam is showing 3,372 In-Game ..and that does not count the other ppl that have a uplay only copy

ubisoft never forced any thing on any one .. they always used Uplay as their default digital distrubution platform for Ubisoft Developed titles

if you choose to not to use uplay to play ubi games .. go play other games

again its working fine here ..and i have even more games that are working fine on Steam as well as quite a few that are Uplay only versions that i purchased over the years

I had my U-play account for many years, never any problem. And if you buy a Ubisoft game on Steam it say you have to a u-play account to play the game. So why not see if it works before you buy the game?? And if you want one drm, buy a ubisoft key for the game,

I expected to be able to use uplay... but because it is not working on their end i can't access my account. I've bought another ubisoft game at the same time and that one doesn't require uplay... so that just shows it's not necessary (especially since i'm only going for the single player content)

contact Ubisoft support to get your password sorted out is all you can do .. other ubi games that are NOT developed by Ubi may not use Uplay or need it .. this one does

ubi does distribute games made by other dev teams .. the old South park game for example does not use Uplay as it was only Published .. not developed by Ubisoft

aggain your gonna have to contact Ubi support if you lost your password

repeted attempts to change your password will LOCK your account ..thats done for security reasons ..so others can not steal your games .. again many other online sevives WORK THE EXACT SAME WAY

you have to contact Support if you lost your password .. the online password recovery tool for Uplay will not work if you have an old version of Uplay installed , as those servers are out dated for the old version of Uplay .. you need to contact Ubi Support if you have an account issue

and for the 3 hours you just wasted .. youd already be back in your Uplay account had you simply contacted Ubi support By phone or twitter

1. i tweeted ubisoft support and still waiting for an answer. (could be bc it's sunday)
2. can't use live chat support because i need my account info.
Not a big fan of calling them by phone if it's gonna cost me... so i'm not interested to go that route.

well sorry you had this issue man .. support will be probably be jammed due to the R 6 invitational challege this weekend

i did see ubi support answering tweets tho ..maybe your just in the back of the line

remember buy a lil book keep it in your desk or heck my buddie has a small one inside his PC case taped to the side panel in case he loses of forgets a password for an online account

better safe then sorry
