Ajay seems awfully casual about killing people…
Given how Far Cry 3 was all about Jason learning to be a warrior and how he freaks out after his first kill am I the only one who finds it rather jarring how immediately after arriving in Kyrat, Ajay starts merrily shooting and stabbing people with nary a comment on it?

I did too. Not only that, but he also turns into a one-man army, a killing machine who can take on heavily guarded forts single handedly with ninja stealth and sharp shooter aim, with no previous training xD found that quite odd and strange

I feel a bit dirty working with these Golden Path folks. They are just so unlikeable and have no real goals for their country.

Major spoilers but you should feel bad about working for the golden path, they're terrorists after all. They really are. Sure Pagan Min isn't Mr Rogers, but he's a man who's lost it all and walked through hell to emerge on the other side a different, changed man.

Here's where the spoilers are. Look away look away.

You're Ajay Ghale who are you to Pagan Min? You're the son of the man who murdered his daughter, and you were raised by the only woman Pagan Min ever loved. You were sent to Kyrat to put the ashes with your half-sister and thus you would of learned the truth about your father, that you had a sister, and who Pagan Min was in all that. Oh and Pagan Min was going to make you king. Instead you decide to murder your way through your would be loyal subjects of the King so you can put two people into power that shouldn't be in power.

Yeah, but after his first kill Jason became a super-soldier able to use a wide variety of weapons without any formal military training. Didn't really expect any different for a farcry game to be honest at this point (haven't played FC5 yet).

i find FC5 and Primal to do a better job of it in that regard. FC5 you're a officer with training, and in Primal you're a native who kills for a living. So it makes sense they can do these things xD

Well, Mohan was pretty casual about killing a baby too. Like father, like son?

see Ajays back story .. he was in fact a soldier

they really should have explained that in game somewhere xD so that he doesn't just seem to go from 'average joe guy' to 'one man killing machine'

Would have been nice to have some actual civilians telling you yo dude those golden path people are nuts mano we really do not like them.

Everyone is either soldeirs for the govt or golden path people or people telling your how wonderful the gp is.

Instead you have to get to the end of the game to find out wth is really going on.

Where the hell are the civilians? did they all run away? or did they all join oen army or the other, and if they all joined gp then why were they not kicking the govts asses wo you?

But every FC game is contrived to make you feel plausable in murdering your way through the entire area, and hey it is fun. at lest till the novelty wears off.

maybe ajay is just a sociopath out the gate, maybe he was in the army or something in america i assume. because he does know his way around weapons wo any explanation, he can climb better than most mountain climbers, he can drive, fly a helicopter and operate boats :P. And he is the only person on the island that is capable of doing anything.

All they would have needed was a few lines of dialogue about how he was special forces with a tour in afghanstan or something, until the death of his mother when he took leave to honor his mothers wishes. and it would have cleared up that question.

head canon it and its fine, ubisoft just does not think things fully through with their protagoanists. but they are a company that makes action games not rpgs.

oh i guess SOF checked the wiki and found exactly that LOL well yea nice the wiki has that info but they should have mentioned it in game.

If it isn't in game...where did this come from? Was there a release from the game writers?

This doesn't look real. The Far Cry Wikia doesn't have this paragraph. Furthermore, there's nothing about this in the game.

I didn’t come across a single mention in game saying that your character had a history of being in the military

In game it realy feels like you are a average guy who picks up a gun and turns into Terminator immediately, storming forts and sniping like a pro xD

It is kind of weird how during the first mission you say "I'm not a soldier" but you've already killed at least 10-20 soldiers even if you go straight to the first mission, by that point I'd killed about 50 of them and enough animals to fully upgrade the loot bag and holster with the wallet done a few times, it made it seem comical when he said it.

Honestly if there isn't a twist where you are actually a highly trained operative sent in to save the terrorists it seems the story is going to be more funny than anything serious.

Oh ye and sorry for calling the group you join terrorists, but they don't tell you much about them or the people in it so all I know of them right now is they hide in a secret base and kill people... so ye

And yet says he isn't a soldier when asked to help out by the terrorists and act's like he's never seen somebody die at the start of the game. I feel like either fans made that up as a joke to explain why he's a super soldier for no reason or perhaps the devs did when people kept making jokes about it, but how he speaks and acts in the game certainly doesn't add up with him being a soldier.
