How does marksman sight on bow work?

Three horizontal lines, 50 m, 80 m, and 100m. Are you supposed to estimate the distance to the target then line up the corresponding line on the target? This would surely amount to guesswork?

Pretty much. Its a cosmetic effect in my opinion~ not much use.

Ya, I don't really use it, I use the standard aiming sights on the bow and juse it for close range combat along with throwing knives when I can use buildings or other things for cover. For long range I use sniper rifles.

the lines do have a meaning use the numbers to judge where to actually aim it i use it all the time and i am actually decent with it

I bow snipe with the marksman's sight all the time. It's wicked accurate when it comes to long distance. Just estimate the distance, line it up, and loose. Headshots galore. Don't forget to take into account height when you bow snipe as shooting a target on the ground from a higher platform lessens arrow drop.
