after you complete any missions ...as no you can not save the game manually in MID mission
if you can not complete a mission in FC 4 or VOY press escape and select abandon mission
also shut off that silly Uplay cloud setting in your Uplay client ..that way your saves only get saved to your hard drive ..you can make a manual back up of your saves at any time , if you need to move to a new PC or wish to replay any mission later on
see the tips section pinned to the top of the forums ..for how ya can do that
BTW VOY saves are the same save file as your FC 4 game
with the steam version of the game, saves your game to
C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 856
the Uplay only version they go in
C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 420
if ya need backed up save files they are also linked in the tips section , pretty sure my archive has each night backed up for VOY ..
remember during the day you free roam ..watch out for yeti's they will throw rocks and also kill you ..so make sure your heavily armed ..you can find a guide in the steam guides section with a map on where to get the guns.... (an yes some are hard to reach pak a wing suit and be ready to fly )..and skins you need for your personal upgrades ..but you still must upgrade your base ..if you expect to survive .
That might be it.
I only really lpayed maybe forty minutes in total if that. I cleared the first cuople of caves and headed part way down the mountain.
I'll give it another go.
1. you must reach the relay station and wipe out all the guards
answer the radio only after you visit your weapons locker to get ammo and you'll find a shot gun inside
2 .answer the radio ..thus begins the first night attack .. survive that ..then make a manual save
always make your saves when in the relay station from then on .
(before you exit the game )
again its best to poke around the valley for a bit to find the loot crates that have skins and weapons ..so you are better armed and equippied for the following parts of the VOY
you will need lots of ammo and better guns just for all the WOLVES and other wildlife your gonna run into .....running around the VOY ..remember animals hate fire .. so use molotovs when ya can..if your low on ammo ........ and RUN !
yeti's ? your gonna need the AMR ..and again that gun is kinda tricky to get ..pack a wingsuit, and be prepared for a pin point landing on a peak
the buzzsaw .. be ready to skid down the side of a mountain to hit the right ledge ..some of the better guns are trickey to get to
The test will be when I start the game up again, and see if progress has been saved.
I did intially save progress on auto-save. However I tried a manual save, and after that there was no save file.
I was close ot the hut and antena as you realised. However I'g become grumpy with it because there were so few save points in the whole starting area, and I died a lot. The was thrown right back to do that starting area all over again. Thus I manually saved as soon as I got well clear of it.
As is FC4, you can get an auto-save file, just buy using the store, in the base-hut. I found the shotgun, but it wants me swap-out for bow, so I will keep quiet bow for now.
I like it so far. It feels very like FC4.
I asked in Steam forums and was told save files are separate.
VOY is not seperate from your FC 4 save ..its part of it for all DLC
again
each save consists of 4 small files
1.save
1.save.upload
2.save
2.save.upload
one is an auto save the other is a user created save point, the other ones are upload files that save to the cloud ,and it will always make those .upload files even if you shut off the cloud save option in Uplay settings
with the steam version of the game, saves your game to
C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 856
the Uplay only version they go in
C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 420
you can back up your save files as on a usb thimb drive ..see the tips section pinned to the top of the forums ..also shut off the upl;ay cloud save setting in uplay settings .. it can be problematic
bottom line if you want your own saves .. just like with any PC file back em up yourself on another drive
When you say the first attack.
I comlpeted the attack on the camp. There were two waves I think, two from the north and two from the south. I managed those with the bow. Easy really. Just let them run at you, so you can't miss with bow.
It did load in the right place though. Progress not lost.
on your way back to the base pick up every gun ya find ..and every skin crate ya see on your map
Good DLC. I found it annoying at first and thought that I wan't going to like it. However once you get to the antenna station, it gets going and all is good.
Shotgun helped massively against wolves. Pretty much ditched bow. However I have the best sniper rifle silenced now.
