Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4

FC4 or FC5
I have Far Cry instincts predator (Xbox360 exclusive) and Far Cry 3. I like them both, predator for the splitscreen ability and far cry 3 for the great story in my opinion and map editor. Now I can't decide whether i should get Far Cry 4 or 5. I think Far Cry 5's arcade mode could be very interresting since i love to mess around with the FC3 editor but on the other hand a great ammount of people are complaining on the FC5 campaign, especially due to the confusing ending. I don't know much about FC4 and the story mode.

FC4 is a lot cheaper, and looks interresting as well
FC5's story seemed cool until i saw the spoilers, is the arcade mode alone worth it?

So how does FC5 and FC4 compare in terms of storyline and Map Editor?

Any suggenstions/opinions?

FC5 for sure

I loved FC2, FC3 and FC4. I haven't played FC5 yet because it is too expensive for the gold version, so I am waiting for a steam Ubisoft sale, whenever that happens... I would recommend getting FC4 first(on sale) and the Yeti DLC. It is a fun game once you get it to play smooth. Alot to do side mission wise. Only 32 story missions which is pretty short for open world games. Also Nexus mods has some sweet mods for FC4 that unlocks all guns and skills right at the beginning of the game which is awesome. I'd go with FC4 first, I think you will love it if you loved FC3. :) Plus Pagan Min is quite the villan, lol.

I totally agree, Ubisoft tend to overprice some of their titles. I remember when watchdogs 2 costed 59€ , I waited one year and it dropped down to 19€ during a sale. Will probably do the same with FC4. Modding sounds good it’s a shame newer game engines are getting harder to mod. Impressive how people manage to mod FarCry’s Dunia engine

FC 4 has been on sale many times since release.
If you go to isthereanydeal.com you can find lowest sale prices. Humble Store now; 11,99 Euro.
That's a good deal for fantastic game.

If you liked FC3 then chances are you'll like FC4 as it is very much basically the same thing, just in a slightly different environment, although FC4 seems a bit 'too easy' in terms of getting money and items, it's basically just given to you really early on.

Not tried 5, only just tried 4.

I really enjoy FC5 and I purchased the Gold Version. I bought it on UPLAY, and not steam. I would just buy the regular version and skip the season pass, the DLC content is awful. The base game is great and they just added a NG+ feature.
Far Cry 5 is only good if you don't like stealth mechanics or if you really enioy being kidnapped

Having grown up on 80s action movies, going in guns blazing is good fun for me. I do like my share of stealth, but it would be nice if either option was more equalized.

Having said that, the game is far from perfect. I really didn't like the forced story missions at the set influence levels. I especially didn't like the Faith / Drug Haze storyline at all.

Im wondering where Far Cry 6 will take place.

FC5 is a bit too cost prohibitive for my liking, even on sale. the discount isn't deep enough for my liking with Ubisoft titles. it always hovers around 60%-66% off and never gets any deeper.

Still, who wouldn't want to get into a drug fuelled adventure with yogi and reggie and listening to the punjab like music?

FC4 dropped down to 11€ last sale , FC5 wont drop below 40€ for a while I will just wait.

I believe 29€ would be a fair deal for fc 5

So if I go for FC4 with the mods I don´t realy have to buy the dlcs or the gold version to get all weapons and missions?

The next Far Cry game will most likely be in Europe during WW2 I’m betting. If we take a look at Far Cry 3, it was a new game for the franchise that had a lot of work put into it, and it was quite successful. They built Far Cry 4 using a lot of the same code, animations, models, sounds, AI, and even some textures. Since they put in a lot of work into Far Cry 5 and didn’t build it off the previous title I’m assuming they’re do it again when making the next game. Since many of the weapons in Far Cry 5 are from WW2 it would be very easy to take a lot of those guns, throw it into a WW2 game, and add a few more weapons. Since there is more vehicles such as airplanes it 5 they could also easily change it to fit into the WW2 theme. Also the system they used with heralds in 5 could easily be changed so instead of having the father and his heralds, they could have some Nazi leader and other Nazi commanders that have control over certain areas.... plus everyone knows WW2 is in right now :)

Both are fun games, however there is a lot more detail and effort put into 5. 5 is basically the new Far Cry 3. It’s so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good I don’t know what I like better. 5 and 3 are the gold of the series. 4 is kinda a reskin of 3 but it’s still pretty good.

Also Far Cry 5 runs so much better on my pc then Far Cry 4. 5 at max with HD texture pack is constant 60 fps while 4 at max is 30 to 50 fps.
