FC4 fps can't go above 60.
240fps Monitor.
Nvidia 1080ti 11GB
AMD TR1900X boosted to 4.0GHz
32gb DDR4 RAM

Been playing all other games at 144 - 240fps.

However. I can't seem to get FC4 to go above 60fps except when I'm in menu.
Tried the guides to edit GamerProfile.XML and none of it worked. Any ideas?

try limiting your cores in ryzen master yet ?

https://steamcommunity.com/app/298110/discussions/0/1621724915803308711/

keep in mind this game came out waaayyyy before your AMD CPU did

Vsync are both off in game and in nvidia control panel as always. I use GSync instead because of the 240hz monitor.

My cores are already on 8core 16thread.

Would it help if i run the game in compatibility mode for w7?
I see the link you shared saying "Legacy Compatibility Mode" which is something I don't have. Since I don't use Ryzen master

Try turn ON Vsync in Nvidia CP (and off in game like SOF said). Compaibility mode for Win 7 is useless for your problem. FC 4 runs just perfect in Win 8 and 10. And i got a Gtx 1080ti and a G-synch monitor (my fps is far over 60) and your problem is probably your settings (unless your Amd Cpu is a problem for the game).

Didn't work. Tried the settings mentioned. I honestly have no clue.

Even while standing stationary facing the intro village of Banapur. I'm sitting on a solid 38fps without fluctuations. CPU and GPU usage doesn't go above 40% as well. I'm at a loss...
Gerhard Aug 28, 2018 @ 4:42am
38 fps must be like playing on a console and i'am sorry for you. Have you tried set your all settings in Nvidia CP to like Global settings (and of in game)? Are you sure you have "activated" G-synch in Nvidia-CP ? You do have a G-synch monitor? And have you tried to delete the gamer profile file in the FC4 (my documents FC4 folder) after you changed your settings? What fps have you set in game settings? Maybe is it your CPU and some games just not like OC, but
i have never had any problem with FC4 and i have played it on like 4 pc's since release.
PokPokReee Aug 28, 2018 @ 4:51am
Regarding global settings for Nvidia CP, Gsync monitor, fps caps. I've already set them all to optimal. I played competitively for Overwatch, CSGO and PUBG. I'm on 240fps, 240fps, and 120fps respectively. I'm using asus pg258p. Native resolution is already set to 1920x1080 @ 240hz.

Well. I didn't know i have to always dlete the game profile xml everytime i change my settings. I'll give it a try.

Also, you might be right. It could just be my CPU's compatibility. I have fluctuating frames for OW as well ever since i upgraded to threadripper and 1080ti. So maybe it could something that's unfixable unless ther'es a mod.

Really appreciate the helps tho. Please, if there's anymore idea. Share it, I'll give it a try to see if it works. I've barely started the game. Would've been nice if i could finish the story with butter smooth gameplay.
Gerhard Aug 28, 2018 @ 5:09am
You don't have to delete the file everytime you change settings, but it can be "corrupted" if you change settings "a lot". Maybe you can get some other input in your thread, but my guess is the cpu. I hope you can play FC4 "butter smooth". FC4 is is one of the best sp games i have ever played.

dunno .. runs great here
i 5 7600 K @ OC 4.4 ghz
ASUS Strix Z 270 H mainboard
16 gig of crucial ballistic Sport ram DDR 4 2400
Gigabyte Windforce 2 GTX 1060 6 gig model
Seiki LC40G81 40" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV (via HDMI + expensive cable sorry do not remember the brand i bought ..2 of em yrs ago when i went to HD tv ..and i know the the price for 2 of em was over $100 bucks ..very thick an heavy with gold ends had the fastest transfer speeds i could find ) <---so yes check your cable to your monitor
Win 10 Pro 64 bit

i run in 1080 P with Vsync off on a 40 in Screen thats right next to my desk on a swivel base
if i enable Nvidia DSR i can even play in 1440 P if i lower a few settings

my in Game settings are set to Custom
resolution 1920 X 1080> (your 1080 ti set to 1440 P use DSR if you have a 1080 P screen..... yes you need to run in 1440 P to let your GPU flex its muscle )

vsync - off
Quality settings
motion blur off - not a fan of it ..
Textures - Ultra
Shadows -Ultra <--- (Nvidia PCSS Soft Shadows will kill your FPS )
Post FX -Ultra
Geometry - Ultra
Vegetation- Ultra
Environment - Ultra
Water - Ultra
Ambient Occusion setting is SSBC
Antialising settings is SMAA
God rays - off- not a fan of how it looks (can make the game unstable..even on Titan X and GTX 980 Ti cards )
Fur - on
Trees relief -on
in Advanced settings
Triple buffering - off
Vsync mode - Normal

in Nvidia control panel, i made these changes
Anisotropic Filtering = 16 X
Max Pre Rendered Frames = 1
Set Power Management Mode = Prefer Max performance ..NOT OPTIMIZED

game looks fine to me and plays stutter free on my system with zero crashes

i did install Razer Cortex game booster version 7.0 as it does seem to help with this game
http://www.filehorse.com/download-game-booster/old-versions/
*(note newer versions of cortex do not seen to work as well , at least for me so i stick with 7.0 )

oh and no gefrce exp or other nvidia bloatware with my drivers ,, just the driver and control panel .. and i still use Nvidia Driver 388.71 .. no need to update em as all my games run fine with those drivers (win 10 driver auto update = off )

I don't use any Nvidia special graphics manager like GEforce experience or GameWorks. And shadows already on ultra. :(

GameWorks in game graphic options, right ?

Op's problem is not about game settings/gameworks. Op got a gtx 1080ti and he should have no problem geting over 60 fps playing in 1080p and using g-synch that will help stabilize his frames.
And if you can read what the Op write in his postings he have tried different settings. Op is not a"noob"/newbie.

hmm dunno then hell the game runs better here then your getting and i only have a 6 gig GTX 1060 and an Intel I 5 7600 K ..your CPU should be fine .. your 1080 ti is much better then my card

wonder if you need some special setting of driver for that 240 HZ screen ?
i can't say i have any experience with a monitor that costly

what kinda cable do you use ..naa that can't be it if other games work fine ..
damn must admit i have no clue why your system is underperfoming in FC 4
