Valley of the Yetis is a nightmare.

"First Night" mission, with no decent weapon I keep on dying and not being able to quick save
or change difficulty level does not help. I have a poor assault rifle and can kill these hostiles
when they are up close as all they have is melee weapons. What kills me most of the time is when I hear a popping sound and I immediately die. No idea where it comes from or what it is.
When two attack me at the same time as the dog, I die. If I stay back, climb up and stand in a corner waiting then they plant explosives and I have to run to take them out. Any help out there??

It's easy, you can use a shotgun (m133) or elephant gun and use the driller, You find them in the "shop". Put out som mines also and use grenades and you will do just fine.

LOL wait till the Yeti's attack you ..look in the guides section there is a map of where to find all the weapons an skins for VOY

and remember do not rush thru the game .. get your base upgrades first

between mines and barrel traps you can kill over half the force attacking you even on night 4 ..so you better get that AMR .. and buzz saw soon ..and no they are not easy to reach

your gonna need the AMR just for the Yeti's running in

you have to fly to reach that gun .... and the buzzsaw ..be prepared to walk on edges of cliffs and fall alot

did you think it was gonna be a breeze ..and easy ..wait till ya run into a few yeti's you'll see by the way watch out for flying rocks ..yes they can throw rocks at ya LOL

I can't wait to get the Buzzsaw but at this stage I cannot explore the area until I have at least completed this mission.

I have the mod where all weapons are unlocked but no cash to buy.

I finally completed the mission having again died a few times by using that M133 shotgun. Should I now answer the radio from the people who have the pilot or rather start exploring the map for decent weapons?

Exploring the map for more weapons. You can use Youtube if you need help finding weapons. You can find a MG42 (Same as Buzzsaw if you put on a scope) up in the mountains and a good sniper rifle (z93) (mission). And you can take out a Yeti with a better shotgun (not the the m133) and the z93 (more than one shot).

Yeah go ahead and explore the map and do the upgrade base quests, i'll add u and we can coop.

and if ya come acroos a Yeti............ remember you need to wound him before you can try a Yeti takedown ..you have to jump on its back ..don't forget to collect his heart .. you can get lots o coin for one

Exploring with a basic shotgun which is all I have and no coin,, I get killed regularly by wild animals then end up back at the Relay station. Whhat a bind.
One question. When I return with a hijacked truck I have access to defences for the relay station.
Is there anything further I must do?, place the defences, activate them for example?

gather more weapons and skin crates they are scattered all over the valley

keep hijacking trucks and doing other missions to upgrade the relay station defences

see the map Akuna published to show where to get the better guns .. your gonna need em to survive the second nite, third and fouth nite too

dl his map as a Jpeg and study it , it shows you where all the guns and skin crates are located

remember all you have to do is pick up a weapon and drop it to unlock it for purchase later

just keep plugging away ..till ya get the buzzsaw ..and AMR .. you have some hard missions in the VOY comin .. pick every green leaf you see .. your gonna need em
again the buzzsaw is a bit hard to reach you have to go after it from atop a mountain and kinda slide down to reach it ..well fall i should say ..the AMR you must FLY from the top of the same peak to reach that gun and do a pin point landing

i would also try to get the M79 nade launcher as soon as ya can .. use a snowmobile to get to its location
in the far nw corner of the map

and never ever forget animal hate fire! ..use your molotoves when overcome by wolves and dog packs ..there are tons of em in that valley

Another thing is maybe to get/use a surpressed shotgun when you exploring the map and you will not get so much attention when you use it.

Spoiler: If you go near the deserted expedition camp you will find a good sniper rifle and up in the mountains near the camp you will a silenced shotgun (bull) and the mg 42. You will then have the weapons you need to survive. [/noparse]

The AMR and Buzzsaw are for *uss*s (!!). They are owerpowered weapons. If you got a sideweapon like the D2 you can easy kill a yeti with 4 shots (if you practice). And near the home camp it is a place where you can fine nearly ALL the skins you need to for your uppgrades. If you are new to the game silenced weapons is the thing to use when you exploring the map and doing uppgrade missions.

I finally got to the buzzsaw but it was no easy task. I fell and died a few times having to restart at the base each time.

Update: I have found the rocket launcher, SA50 sniper, buzzsaw and M79 but have no coin to modify any weapons.
