my monitor is 1920 x 1080 at maxed, and it's only this game when borderless mode being all wracked up.
Darkdone02, Is the "half the menu" you see much larger than it is normally, as what you see is a zoomed-in part of the full screen? That would indicate that in borderless mode for some reason it's changing the Windows resolution. (As I understand it, "borderless" mode just displays it as a window on your regular Windows desktop that's full-screen and without borders.) Maybe you can take Windows down to that lower resolution, start the game, and see if you can at least see the whole menu (albeit at lower resolution) that way. If so, you may be able from there to tweak game settings to bring the resolution back up.
it could be driver related ?? .. i used to get a weird hitch with any of the new Nvidia drivers
games would drop from full screen to a borderless mode .. so i gave up on Nvidia reference drivers .. installed the ones ASUS provides ... all my games work perfect
may be due to the fact my card is factory overclocked ???
and i run my desktop at a lower resolution then 1080 P ..its set to 1440 X 900
if you keep having an issue run steam as an Admin ..verify your game files
if ya still have an issue contact Ubi Support
it can be traced back to bad install of drivers too ..or not running DDU when you update your drivers drivers in some cases ..as well as could very well be a bad game install
again i have not been able to replicate the problem here on any GPU that i have or used ..and i have used quite a few over the past two years since the game shipped
and i do know Nvidia Drivers are not that great right now ..same with AMD ..both have had issues ..all ya need to do is look on the AMD forums or the official Nvidia forums
Nvida just had to release a hotfix driver this week to address other problems ..so has AMD in early december i think .. may have neen november ..again depends on the GPU itself and what screen and resolutions used ..and yes sorry SIR but Drivers do count
as well as any and all backround applications that may be in use when windows loads the game
again i have been playing this game all day with a Strix GTX 960 .. saw no problems on either screen i used
used and acer 1080 P screen as well as my Seki HD TV via HDMI
asus driver version 359.06

(Just confirming because they guy has already said that his works full screen, but he's interested in getting it working in borderless mode, for presumably the usual reasons.)
but i do have to press alt + enter at times to get the game to switch go to fullscreen ..depending on what screen i have in use (i have two ) one in HDMI one in DVI
the later nvidia drivers of the past year do have an issiue tho that i have experienced
anything past 361.75 seem to cause problems with my factory overclocked ASUS GTX 960
some game will hitch ..drop to a borderless mode or out of fullscrreen mode or just lock up as it trys to switch and hitch
contacted both Ubi and Nvidia ..and yes it was the drivers
i did a clean install of WIN 7 and 10 and all drivers anf now i only ;play in full screen
the OP has an older GTX card ....he may find older drivers may work better OR lower his graphics settings ..he has not posted those
here are mine in case they may help
my in Game settings are Custom
resolution 1920 X 1080
vsync - on
Quality settings
motion blur off - not a fan of it ..
Textures - Ultra
Shadows - High
Post FX -Ultra
Geometry - Very High
Vegetation- Ultra
Environment - High
Water - Ultra
Ambient Occusion setting is SSBC
Antialising settings is SMAA
God rays - off- not a fan of how it looks (can make the game unstable)
Fur - on
Trees relief -on
in Advanced settings
Triple buffering - off
Vsync mode - Normal
in Nvidia control panel, i made these changes
Anisotropic Filtering = 16 X
Max Pre Rendered Frames = 1
Set Power Management Mode = Adaptive
as a single GTX 780 can not max this game with all setting on ultra ..depending on resolution..a single gtx 780 would be a mid range card as of 2 montns after this game shipped .. right ?
I think that's the confusion. When you say "fullscreen" above, you're not talking about changing the mode from "Borderless" to "Fullscreen" in the graphics settings, but staying with "Borderless" but having the borderless window maximized, taking up the full screen, right?
But (now?) Alt Tab also switch between full screen and bug borderless, lol. How they can make alt tab do that? That is bug creativity, impressive, they would have try do it on purpose they would fail.
