it does same thing switch between full screen and a windowed mode
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/81823/alt-enter-switches-between-window-and-full-screen
Dual Core cpu's are not supported ..yes you need a quad core cpu
see http://www.pcper.com/news/Processors/Far-Cry-4-Does-Not-Support-Dual-Core-Processors-Budget-Landscape-Shifting
and http://wccftech.com/death-gaming-dual-core/
you also need a video card better then an Nvidia GTX 460 or AMD HD5850 with at least 1 gig of dedicated Video Ram
*Note Direct X 10 class video cards will not work *
and a 64 bit operating system as well as at least 4 gig of system ram
you should have read the system requirements on the store page before you bought the game
you should never buy or install software if your PC does not meet the minimum system requirements
Minimum supported Intel CPU is a QUAD CORE

Driver version and video card type ? operating system ? Cpu type ? Memory installed ? software installed ?
DID you look in the troubleshooting tips section that is PINNED to the top of the forums ?
please do the following if your posting about an issiue with a game crashing or not starting,
post your FULL Steam System info .. this helps ... as no one can say what your problem may be until we know all of whats involved.. on YOUR system , we would only be guessing ....Ok ? thanks !
now look up top in steam look for where it says Help (right above the word LIBRARY)
(you will need to exit big picture mode if you have it active in Steam)
clik on that (it will open a drop down menu)
then clik system information
let that load , only takes a few seconds
once that loads with your system information
right clik on that window
then select all
then right clik again select copy
then when you post back
right clik and select paste on your reply

*note if you have a dual core CPU there is nothing i can tell you to do that will help ....you must meet the Far Cry 4 Minimum System Requirements ..and these will include yes a QUAD CORE CPU as well as a fully functional Direct X 11 video card that supports shader model 5.0 and exceeds either a Nvidia GTX 460 or an AMD 5850 in pixel and vertex shader count as well as a 64 bit operating system *Intel HD Video Chipsets are not supported*
direct X 10 = pixel and vertex shader model 4
modern vid chips support DX 11 and 12 ..ie pixel and vertex shader model 5.0 and above
and yes you need a DX 11 compatable card to load far cry 4
you can use this page to see that no those old Nvidia GPU's were good for their time ..are indeed Direct X 10 class cards
http://www.pchardwarelinks.com/video_g.htm
here are current Dx 11 cards
http://www.pchardwarelinks.com/video.htm
i had an nvidia 9800 GT too my self at one time yrs ago .. was great for fc 2 and meh for FC 3 in DX 9 mode ..so not trying to pee on your card ..they were good for their time
but no they will not run FarCry 4
also if your still on this rig from your nov 9th post here
https://steamcommunity.com/app/25000/discussions/0/2425614361136875696/?ctp=2#c1751232561622729373
your CPU is also well below the minimuim system requirements to even get the game to load (so yep it'll black screen )
you need at least a quad core CPU ..dual core CPU's are not supported

hope ya get your new system you wanted to buy ..but sorry on what ya said ya have as of Nov 9th in your other post .. no FC 4 will not run at all on that
your only gonna get a black screen .. sorry man
if ya still have that old AMD cpu that also needs to be upgraded ...as the game will black screen on a dual core CPU ..too
many of the main games assets use CPU core or thread 3 ..so thats why dual core CPU's won't load the game ...also if your saving to build your new system, save a bit longer an pick up a GTX 1060 6 gig card if ya can ..i read Nvidia is overstocked on em ..thus the deley of the RX 2060 cards coming out ..so you may find a decent deal on a GTX 1060 6 gig card .. glad i bought mine before the mining crypto crap kicked off ..only paid $239 for it back in march of 2017 ..also look at the AMD RX 580 cards they are already dropping in price ..
saw a few on a few sites going for less then $200 last weekend
and they have 8 gig of Vid ram plus in some games beat a gtx 1060 ..you'll just maybe need a better power supply for an AMD card ..they do need more power and i think a few ....only need a single 8 pin connection (my gtx 1060 gigabyte windforce 2 1060 needed only a single 6 pin on my 550 watt PSU so make sure ya check that out before you buy your power supply and vid card )
wish ya luck with your Upgrade Sir ..glad i did mine in early 2017 .. when i first got this game in 2014 , i was useing an old Intel core 2 quad Q 6600 and only had a AMD HD 7750 1 gig gpu with 8 gig of old DDR 2 ram ..far cry 4 ran fine with medium settings tho @ 1440 X 900 .
my current systerm
Intel i 5 7600 K OC to 4.4 ghz on all 4 cores \ cooler master hyper evo 212 CPU cooler
ASUS Strix gameing Z 270 H mainboard
16 gig of DDR 4 \ 2400 / 4 X 4 gig sticks in dual channel (crucial ballistic)
giigabyte GTX 1060 \ windforce 2 / six gig vid card
Win 10 Pro
samsung evo 850 500 gig SSD drive
toshiba 2 terabyte 7200 RPM hard drive
PC case = themaltake V22 special edition 2 fans on side by GPU
PSU = themaltake 550 watt 80 + gold
cost me $1060 to build (got all my parts at my local microcenter) ..but was worth every penny i saved to build it .
