Not Maintaining Fullscreen
I keep attempting to change my game to full screen 1920x1080 but it keeps reverting back to borderless windowed mode. Any ideas?

It's strange. I set it to fullscreen and when I exited the video settings, it reverted back to Borderless. I figured our a solution though. I simply went into the game properties launch options in Steam and entered "-fullscreen" and it maintains fullscreen at 1920x1080 now.

Were you able to solve this? I have been playing it in borderless for a while now, but now I am sick and tired of it :P

Yes, I've managed to somewhat solve this. Go to your library and highlight Far Cry 3. Right click it and hit properties. Under he General tab, hit "Set launch options" and type in "-fullscreen". Once you've done that, open it normally and go to the video settings again. It should stay in Fullscreen now but I had to try setting fullscreen twice or so for it to work.

Hope it helps!

That's odd. My PC will occasionally minimize the program after about 15 minutes of playing anything on fullscreen. And then it will try to go back to the game which ends up minimizing it again. And this only happens once every sitting of the game. It's something I haven't found a solution to but it doesn't really bother me much.

I figured out why it wouldn't run fullscreen for me. Others had said to click alt+enter but that never worked for me. Apparently it wont stay fullscreen when I have my monitor overclocked. who would have guessed eh?

I don't even know if my monitor's overclocked. xD And yeah. Alt+Enter never worked for me either.

I don't have a problem with full screen, but I am running three monitors and there is a black band across the top and bottom, so I'm not getting full use of my screens. Ubisoft is aware of the problem, but I have no idea if, or when, they will fix it.

The game automatically sets the aspect ratio to fit your display, but you can change the aspect ratio manually if you want to. I'm not sure, maybe the in game display settings don't let you change your spanned aspect ratio (48:9?)

You could try this:
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Go into "Display" > "Adjust desktop size and position".
- Under the "Scaling" tab, enable "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs".

Really not sure whether or not that would make any difference... But, if you haven't tried it yet, maybe it would be worth a try :) If you have AMD cards, I am sure there is a similar setting somewhere in the Catalyst Control Center.

Nothing's working for me there. It's driving me crazy.

Has anyone figured this out for Farcry 4 yet? Full screen mode worked when I first played the game, but the second I went to video options to increase the graphics quality, the frustration began. I tried someone's suggestion to add "-fullscreen" to the steam option for game properties, but it did not work for me. Mine keeps reverting to window mode. Any ideas?

Are you running the game with a custom resolution in the Nvidia CP? By custom resolution, I mean either an overclocked refresh rate or oversampled res. I have to run the game without my monitor refresh rate overclock for fullscreen to stick.

I have had this same problem, typing the -fullscreen did not work for me, neither did forcing the game to open in full screen via my video card settings. It seems this is unfixable, and it makes the game unplayable. I've owned the game over a month and haven't played it at all. Steam refuses to help or offer a refund, and directs me to ubisoft. Ubisoft can't even help me fix their own games problems, and just keeps giving me the run-around. I am fed up and just want a refund for the game they sold me that does not work properly
