Funny, 1070 is not better then 980ti. check benchmarks
ask Kris .. he told me about it .. (thank you again sir ) i use a Strix GTX 960 2 gig card .. to me the game runs fine in 1080 P ( i also use older Nvidia drivers as thats the driver ASUS has up for my card driver version 359.06 )
Acer 1080P 24 inch wide screen monitor max refesh 75 Hz
secondary that i use to play on SEKI 40 inch HDTV via Hdmi out from the back of my Asus card
my in Game settings are Custom
resolution 1920 X 1080
vsync - on
Quality settings
motion blur off - not a fan of it ..
Textures - Ultra
Shadows - High
Post FX -Ultra
Geometry - Very High
Vegetation- Ultra
Environment - High
Water - Ultra
Ambient Occusion setting is SSBC
Antialising settings is SMAA
God rays - off- not a fan of how it looks (can make the game unstable)
Fur - on
Trees relief -on
in Advanced settings
Triple buffering - off
Vsync mode - Normal
in Nvidia control panel, i made these changes
Anisotropic Filtering = 16 X
Max Pre Rendered Frames = 1
Set Power Management Mode = Adaptive
game looks fine to me and plays stutter free on my system with zero crashes
also i installed Razer Cortex version 7.0 as it does seem to help with this game
http://www.filehorse.com/download-game-booster/old-versions/
keep in mind the Nvidia gameworks settings will tax your FPS
try other settings
PCSS soft shows will KILL your FPS use high or Ultra (i'd say high on a 960 )
also i never EVER install the crapware with my geforce drivers
i run DDU
an then only install
the driver and control panel
HDMI audio
PhysX
thats it .....no 3d vision since you have to own a 3d screen and the Nvidia glasses to use it
and NO geforce experience, half the time i used it it set my games up waaay wrong anyway
but no on a GTX 960 your not gonna get 60 FPS all the time ..mine dips to the low 50's with razer coretex installed ..without razer cortex .. yea it'll dip lower
(keep in mind a GTX 960 = about half a GTX 980 hardware wise )
the game will push your GPU if ya crank your settings up ..and yep you need to find the right balance , if you want a good experience .
or have a GTX titan X or better
and even on those and the 980 ti's the nvidia game works settings will make the game crash if you enable them .. nvidia busted that long ago at the driver level .
i left two links about that in the tips section Point # 18
if ya want 4 k in far cry 4 your gonna need to go SLI titan X's or better
with version 7.0 also you have to after exiting your game .. manually shut off cortex in your windows task bar (at least i do here ) or steam keeps saying far cry 4 is still running
all my other games version 7.0 closes when i exit the game ..version 6 worked perfect
usually when i lauch my games i see cortex free up about half a gig or so of system ram
by suspending uneeded windows services .. that helps alot ..once i exit cortex .. those services reload
its a neat lil program
1080 is around £550 where 980ti you can get from £300, I can't see any point of burning £550 plus for very little of performance. Buy 980 or 980ti and wait for next gen of GTX.
Correct, I don't understand why people think that one card can run all games maxed out in 4K.
