The group commands (CNTRL 1 - 9) don't work.

I played the game decades ago on a PC before steam and used the unit grouping alot. However; I find that when I try to group units teh CNTRL 1 -9 selections just "beep" at me and don't make a group that can be selected. Any ideas? (I've looked at the interface and there is nothing there). The manual specifies that as the way to put units in a group.

On a fresh install, Alt 1-9 are the programmed grouping keys....
To change it to the Ctrl keys, press enter type: +switchalt and it will be changed to the Ctrl keys.
Only have to do this once, as it is a toggle.
