Playing custom maps in TA on Steam

I made a few custom maps years ago but I can't seem to get them to run in the most recent Steam version of the game, I've got the .UFO and .PCX files in the bitmaps>glamour folder. This used to work but when I open the game I can't see my maps in the list. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I'd love to be able to play those maps again,

put em in the game's root folder

You got the custom maps, now all you need is some custom rules and you can soon claim to be what they call an expurt. But make sure you open ports and firewall to some random 3rd party app authored by God only knows who though (and to play mods). Lol.
