how to increase the unit limit

I remember when I children this game had a units limit more big, now you can create only 250, how can i increase this units limit?, thanks

See if you can merely edit the TA.ini for 500. Otherwise you might have to install a 1500 unit patch. Both 3.9 community patch and the mod Escalation support 10000 units but you can only have 10000 per game and that usually makes a 10 player game 1000 units each. For such a slug festival you might also want to edit the path finding values, however this will demand a little more from the computer.

I just do this..

To make the ini file,

Make a txt file named totala.txt

type the following in there

[preferences]

unitlimit = 500;

Save and rename the text file into an ini file and place it in the TA directory (most likely c:/steam/steamapps/common/total annihilation )

Enjoy a 500 unit limit in skirmish instead of 200.

So I did this and wrote 10000 instead of 500 and it only seemed to raise the limit by 500. Also the unit counter when you press Spacebar ins't there so I had a hard time verifying.

Anyone able to confirm a mod/patch that works to increase the Unit cap? I want to see bucket loads of troops on my screen.

Total Annihilation v3.9.02 Beta Patch works on this and increases the limit to 1500 but I have failed to go beyond that. I tried to put the 5k patch on to no avail.

going past 1500 you must edit the TA.ini file

missions cannot go past the 200/250 they are at, unless they are modified one by one by an expert modder
