Put this in the main Kingdoms directory, host a multiplayer game, select the map and make sure the "Use Map Script" option is enabled, and there should be a button on the bottom right to 'Force Start' the game as a solo player. (Add however many AI players that the map needs, and set their faction. You'll also need to set their teams, if the map is intended to be team play rather than a free-for-all.)
All units placed in the editor should show up, and all script triggers should run.
And just in case, the normal way to enable mods for the game is to create a shortcut to Kingdoms.exe, right-click -> properties, and add -disablecavedogverification to the end of the "Target:"
I think an unofficial patch eliminates the need for that. Found it after some searching:

Anyway, I was just searching for something else and came across an old, unanswered question. After a few more searches, I could not find any other link to that little GUI mod. So for anyone who may still need it, there it is.
