Journalist Sister Part 11
I've hijacked the firewall and changed port 80 (and port 22) to allow
The objective now says "hack into the computer of someone interest in Jihad"
I have used fern to find the login for the router of the individual in the net tree that I am trying to hack.

But the sliders I need to change to the "on"/"green" position are greyed out.

Trying to add a rule to open port 22 does create an open port when checking the IP with nmap but there is no service or version information.

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

PS - I've completed this mission previously when the router interface had check boxes for the port forwarding rules rather than sliders

Fixed
100% working now. Very much appreciated!

<3 You can leave a review if you enjoy :)
I have the same issue right now
This isn't fixed. I am having a similar issue. I open port 22 in the router interface, set the slider to green, and save it. However the port is still closed when i'm running Nmap. I can't progress the mission.
Did you use LAN IPs in the router setting? Did you change all firewall rules to "Allow" (ports 80 & 22)?

Check if you are opening port 22 on interpol network not local

Hello friend. I've encountered a similar issue with the latest version of the game. When I try to open port 22 for 192.168.1.4, the slider is not active, and I cannot set the port to open. When I add a rule to open port 22 for this host in nmap, I see a double entry for port 22:
PORT STATE SERVICE VERSION DESTINATION
22 CLOSE ssh OpenSSH 2.34.50 192.168.1.4
22 OPEN 192.168.1.4
I'm running into the same issue. I've tried opening port 22 on the local network, the firewall, and the interpol router. The existing rules for port 22 on the interpol router are grayed out, I can't activate or delete them, and adding a new rule for port 22 doesn't change it when i nmap to the target's non-local IP address. I see the rule I added as an additional port, but the initial port 22 that has the actual SSH remained Closed no matter what I try. This seems to be the exact same as the poster above me.
I watched a walkthrough, but the person in the video simply turned on the grayed out rule, which I'm assuming was a bug and unintended.
I've tried emailing the target for a reverse_tcp but they reply that the file is suspicious and wont be opening it.
Very unsure what to do at this point.

Same problem, the sliders are greyed out

A lot of us seem to be having this issue, hopefully you have time to address it.
I'm also running into issues with this one. I found a workaround:

Use port 80 for the port forward rules in the router instead of 22. a new entry is shown then in nmap for apache port 80. you can then proceed with the mission

I can get new ports to show up in nmap, but they always show as a blank service with no version
What i did:
Set internal and external port to 80, set local IP to the local IP of the machine i'm trying to hack
when i then do nmap against the normal IP, i see Port 80 is OPEN but no service or version listed, and trying to metasploit fails for me.
