More importantly they need to allow us who own disc/digital versions to activate our copies on Steam since they shut down the multiplayer servers a few years ago yet the Steam version seems to have it.

achievements are coded into engine.
trading cards and steam cloud are steam's features and they could be implemented easily without touching the game code at all. So probably achievements won't happen - developer is defunct. But trading cards might happen (right now they are not available so it's either a wrong tag on store page or cards aren't up yet, fingers crossed).

Someone or something added this game back to steam from what I understand so surely that someone or something has to power to add achievements to the game.

Only reason why I haven't bought it already.
