No mouse or keyboard commands after start of game

Hi, I'm running Corpse of Discovery on a Win10-System. After the start I'm in the main menu, but although there is a mouse cursor, I can't click on anything. There are no keyboard commands either, so I can't start the game at all. I'm totally at a loss, I've never seen anything like this before.
My computer is a laptop: Asus Aspire F15 F5-573G-5582
Can somebody help me?
