Monitor blur (and also the film grin and depth of field) is the first thing I turn off in any game.
In the past we would have detailed options to turn stuff off/on as we please, but noooo... We can't have nice things anymore.
UE is partialy to blame, pushing stuff not every one wants nor every game needs.
TAA is on by default, and it's the Satan's work. Honestly I'm pretty sure The Devil himself invented TAA. Let us turn it off at least, or offer different AA options.
Also I've noticed the game uses depth of field, but also doesn't allow you to turn it off, or at least not all the way off.
However even if you would turn all of that off, due to the engine pretty much assuming all that crap will be on by default, the end result is a grainy image.
*sigh* this is what we get now. That's why people don't like UE.
Turn motion blur down from 50% to 20%. It makes the textures sharp again but still retains some of the blur effect. Had to do this in cyberpunk too because I was wondering why such a high end game looked like blurry nonsense lol.
Biggest factors for fps seem to be AA and scaling, so there is a tradeoff.
Devs, please, give us all the options to tweak / turn off settings!
People complain about unity, but I find Unreal become worse with horrible rendering engine. Sad game era where only very few game studio can dev their own engines (or tweak the existing ones). I'm at a point where I prefer older game look, or indie/demake styles.
Most alphas i played to while playtesting games had straight on area only made of cubes, cinematics made only in sketches.
This here is the most polished alpha i've ever played.
But i'll agree with the fact blurryness and bloom in UE games that came out of late are terrible and that i'd rather not have it at all from base.
