Magic character vs Magic Shields
What are you expected to do as one of the magic characters if the enemy that gives everyone magic shield uses its ability first turn, aka before you can even attack? seems like an impossible situation since you can't really outlast ten whole turns of three enemies going at you.

I agree, it essentially ends the run. Skeleton barrier needs a retuning.

I had magic barrier myself, I basically had a build where I would out barrier the enemy and run the clock with counter attacks that sometimes got through or canceled their barrier, idk how it works, it just does .... also I had slot of magic burst stacks that made it easy but got parried twice in a row and died on that run

Make sure you have some sort of on-hit effect like electricity or ice attacks. The on-hits don't count as magic attacks so they can pop magic shields easily. Electricity is particularly good as it's a low damage AoE so it can pop those things even if you're not directly attacking the skeleton.

Some sort of secondary damage if pretty much mandatory for magic characters. I usually like taking some early malice if it shows up on floor 1 since those low floor skeletons are double attackers.

I have played only 2-3 hours but i don't thing you can do that much damage with aoe abilities. the mobs have 300-500 hp after their shields

True but you can only deal magic or Physical at 1 time

Also for those struggling with shields, I have since learned a few things (Or forgot to mention them), namely effects that tick after your attack, stuff that stacks or bypasses your normal attacks like electric or malice damage that hits during, after your attack or during the enemies turn these things usually hit the enemies health past their shield, and in turn cancels the protection .... try it out, pairing them with the multi attack, you stack immense amount of damage stacks of your extra effects, very worth doing

The easiest way I found is, as the floor 1 reward, to take malice.
It breaks shields in one damage.

Same with electricy and poison.

All 3 being possible floor rewards.
