Downloading Eye of the North
I already own the original GW trilogy that I bought from steam a while ago, but when I had decided to get Eye of the North from steam also, I wasn't able to play it. I bought EoN, and then clicked install game, but never actually saw the game download in my library tab. instead it just brought up the GW login screen for the trilogy. And now when I go to play the game none of the EoN quests are available to me. So I went to search for EoN in the steam store to see if I actually purchased it, and it told me that I had already bought the game.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

When you buy Eye of the North, you're just buying a CD key (which is why you didn't see anything download). To access it, right-click Guild Wars in your Steam game library and click "View CD-key." This will give you the key you bought for EotN.

Then login to the game, and from your character select screen click the "Edit Account" button on the lower-left, and then "Manage Access Keys." From here, you'll be able to add the new key which will unlock all of the Eye of the North content.

After you've added the key to your account, new quests will appear in each of the three major port towns (Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center, and Kamadan Jewel of Istan) allowing you to travel to Eye of the North. You must be level 10 or higher to take any of these quests:
  • Lion's Arch: "What Lies Beneath" from Len Caldoron
  • Kaineng Center: "I Feel the Earth Move Under Cantha's Feed" from Minister of Maintenance Raiugyon
  • Kamadan: "Hole of Istan" from Bendah
Each of these quests is relatively straightforward and will lead you to find a newly opened crevasse or fissure just outside of that town, where you will physically travel to the Eye of the North area. The Guild Wars client will automatically download any Eye of the North content as needed once you've added the access key to your account.

Have fun!

I LOVE the original Guild Wars!!! I'm playing Guild Wars 2 now and it seems to me to be lots harder.

This still works. I just did it with The Guild Wars 20th Anniversary pack they have on sale right now for $8.
