Stuck at Elona Reach mission

I hit a roadblock here and just can't get past. I cannot seem to reliably be able to pull most of the groups back to a spot where I can safely kill them, they lose aggro too quickly to be able to fight one group at a time. It would be manageable if there were no patrols, before I can finish a single group another one will walk inside aggro range and wipe all my henchmen.
