Error 011 new account set up

Same thing happenned to me and it was because I was trying to create a new account on an email address that I already had a guild wars account on. As soon as I used a different email address the problem went away.

in my case creating a new email wont works for me :/

I have the same problem, do we need later the email or can I try to create temporary email until one work?

error 011: is because you're using an email address that has an old guild wars 2 account they locked down because of inactivity. reset it's password at https://account.arena.net/reset-password
so it will become active again.Then it will accept it for guild wars.
(or you can just use a brand new email address too.)

I have the same problem after linking my GW account to GW2 account, does that mean I'll have to change the GW2 password once more?

I just got the Guild Wars Trilogy.
Since I have to have an Acc at Arenanet, I wanted to create one via GW. But I can't get any further than entering the email and password, because it always says that the password is wrong (Code=011). How can a password be wrong if I haven't set anything yet.

Hey! What a strange error. I imagine you haven't registered a GW account with that email before. Have you tried registering via the ArenaNet website instead? Might work.

This happened to me when trying to set up a new login in game, so I used my existing Anet email address and its password and it linked GW1 to account and worked. Its really confusing as it reads as if you are setting up a fresh account, but if you are using your existing Anet email from say GW2, it looks for that password. I hope that makes some sense.

I've had an account on Arenanet for years since Guild Wars came out.
So if I enter the email for guils wars I have at A-Net with the password, only the old account would be opened, and niy new one.
And I really didn't want that.
It was also possible with Guild Wars 2, there were no difficulties.

Are your GW1 and GW2 accounts connected? Because then it's the same login 🤔

Depends on what campaigns you have already unlocked on that account. Afaik the trilogy adds the missing ones, but you obviously can't get "duplicates".
