HELP cant connect.

So i just got the game and i made my accont and everthing but when I try and sign in it tells me to check my internet connection. but at the same time I'm in a discord call and watching youtube. am I missing something?

Exact same issue, it tells me there is no internet connection. I clearly have one. I also already have a GW2 account. I can't sing in with that either. This whole process is super confusing and no details on how to go about actually setting up an account.

Same problems here.
When i went to guild wars properties in steam and tried Verify Integrity of game files, it gave me the report of 2 files counldn't not be verified. And then the game redownloaded and install itself. After that i can log on the game. However, if i quit the game and try to log back in, the problem repeat again.

I just bought it and it works for me. I followed the guide below to create a new account. This old game even supports 3440x1440 resolution. I did not need to enter the key manually via the keyboard...I just copied and pasted the key (or is that what you all mean when you say 'manually'?).

I can vouch for this, I made and account and endered the cd key manually and made an account and I was able to log in.

I just bought the game on summer sale because locked out of original account. I had no issues when I did "Create new account" and entered my serial number manually from what steam CD Key was. Also note I used an existing GW2 email address for "new" account and when I log into arenanet website it not shows I have GW1 linked and can login no issues.
