Help, cannot make a character in Factions or Nightfall

So apparently arenanet support is not able to help me with this for whatever reason and they told me to contact steam support which probably won't help me either.
I had purchased the GOTY edition of this game back in 2016 and had a blast with it. Wanted the expansions in my steam library, so I purchased the "Guild Wars Trilogy" here on steam. This added the "Trilogy" as DLC in the steam app. But when I log in and try to make a new character, the two expansions are completely greyed out and tell me to visit the website for more information. Is there something I'm missing? Something extra I need to do? Should I not be able to make new characters with said expansions? I have no idea what's going on nor do I have a clue how the expansions work. I just wanted to add them to my account. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If this does not help, i'm sure @kazerniel will have some tricks how to solve this.
