Critical strike primary attribute work with bow attack skills?
Trying to decide if I want an assassin/ranger, or ranger/assassin. I figure primary crit attribute is better than expertise. But only if it also works with bows. Anyone know?

Also, do rangers get more hp than assassins? I figure it's the same. I know rangers get better armor, elemental resists. If a rangers tankiness compensates for the lack of dmg, I could live with that.

My current main is a ranger/e with plans on switching to assassin. I mainly picked ranger as primary because of the way the character looked. Also, I heard dagger spam is really good. But since 4 pips of energy regen is on assassin, and they gain energy with crits, this seems better than what expertise gives. Also, I since found out that you can change the appearance to match any campaign via $. So, now I am thinking I might be better off with A/R rather than R/A. Ty for any feedback.

Well. I know there are some skills tied into bow attacks that rely on expertise. I figure markmanship more though overall.

Critical strikes do work on bows, but bow attacks are of limited use in late game, save for a few builds.

The hp level is the same for all classes/professions.
In this game, you should worry more about armor tho, and rangers are quite sturdy.

Dagger spam is quite effective, but also gets boring pretty quick, you will be hitting the same skills over and over.

Both rangers and sins are versatile classes if you want to combine them with a secondary.
Rangers are more self sufficient, and you can play the whole game without ever using any skill from a secondary class. But they lack damage when compared to other professions. And take a while to get used to, there are too many options. ( my main is ranger that either runs melandrus shot or wields a hammer and spams earth shaker with AoE attacks to fuel it)

Sins are glass cannons, they deal huge amount of damage, but its all they do, i find them boring to be honest. They are popular for farming due to shadow form tho.

as for getting boring. all the classes I've played hit the same thing over and over. My current main, a r/e I use nothing but 2 attack skills. rest of my bar is utility/res/comfort pet

I just made a a/r and well, keep running out of energy. Can't pull off any attack chains (being 3 attacks). If I port, or use bow skill as opener, leaves at most energy for two dagger/melee attacks. Then the rest of fight I am regening. As for having a pet? takes up a skill slot on an already small hotbar. Plus res sig. So, a/r not looking good for me atm. Didn't know assassins dagger attacks would take up much space. I'm just low lvl though and don't have gear that gives pluses to energy yet. I figure that would help, but doubt enough.

At the beginning, with a sin, you would be able to use just 2 skills or so. At the end of the game you can chain 3-4 with enough critical strikes.

Remember that in this game every team member has a specific purpose. You either keep agro and tank, deal damage, support or backline. Dont try to fit more than one role unless you are very experienced.

Pets are usually meat shields or damage dealers with a beast mastery bar.

The only somewhat viable build i know for A/R with a bow is using way of the master with that one preparation that causes rupt on critical hits.

Try playing a axe warrior, you wont be hitting the same keys over and over, this is also one of the hardest classes to play, the hardest being a prot monk

^got over 20k hours in this game mate, also played high-end pvp back in the days

hammer bunny is still a viable build (R/W with a hammer and pet, Rampage as One for IAS and IMS, hammer bash for knockdown, crushing blow for DW and bestial mauling for daze. there are other useful skills you can add)
Enraged Lunge will do huge amounts of damage and can be used as a base for a pet ranger build

Barrage team builds use pets to draw aggro and soak in damage, while the rangers spam barrage on the mobs

there are lots of builds you can use with a pet.
