Buying multiple copies?

Is it possible to buy multiple copies of the game through steam? I'd like to set up a few mule accounts, wondering if buying via Steam will let me get multiple copies and if each one will get a new account key. Also looking to give a few keys direct to friends since the new region pricing thing doesn't let Canadians give gifts to Americans apparently.

I dont think you can buy multiple copies of any game on steam unless you gift it. So you would probably have to set up mulitple steam accounts.

You can buy more copies as a gift and activate them through GW1 instead of Steam.

Since GW1 originally wasn't a Steam game you can even play GW1 without Steam even if you bought it on Steam because you only buy the serial code which you have to activate on the log-in screen.

So you can start GW1 with or without steam and then in the log-in screen you type in the email and password to log in the selected account.

PS: the only advantage of buying the game first time on steam is you dont have to add GW1 as a non-steam game

You need the CD key to activate it through the Guild Wars client though and as far as I'm aware you can only view the key in your Steam library through a copy that's been activated on Steam.
