I got this same error message by trying to log in with my GW2 account info without first creating a new GW1 account.

Creating a new GW1 account with your GW2 email address should fix it and link them together.

no one is able to help if don't tell us enough information or what you have done to get that error.

like have you created a new GW1 account with email that is different from your GW2 email, or not. or have you used the correct cdkey to create account ingame.

if you have linked GW1 account to your GW2 account via https://account.arena.net/ then you may log in to GW1 with your GW2 credentials now.

your GW1 credentials previously will not work after linking to GW2.

check if your email / character name / password is typed correctly.

if it's a brand new account just leave it blank and login with your GW2 credentials (after you have linked it on https://account.arena.net ).
