How do we find extraction points?

Game is great. The atmosphere of the game adds to the ambiance and challenge of fighting and sneaking about to pick off enemies. However, what I don't understand is how we're supposed to extract. Yes, we use the microwave to extract but how do we find this? Sometimes I'll find it randomly when barely a few minutes passed and others I'll just run around the map with a load of stuff and there is nothing anywhere. I keep trying to follow the noise but it's just random buzzing that doesn't have a distinct direction.

Also, what is this navigation thing in the settings. Nothing shows anywhere.

I am the same way, were you able to figure out a way? I saw P was binded to some sort of direction thing but pressing it does nothing.

Nope. Sometimes I find it and other times I don't. Haven't gotten around to mapping the office so I can't tell where I am most of the time to comb it. The difficulty timer goes up fast and this really freaky dude shows up so I am just frantically running around at that point since all I have is a pistol still.

They're random, I don't think there are any signs other than listening out for the sound. But play enough and you'll notice they have specific spawn areas. The best advice I could give is learn those locations and make them your go to locations to check.

Try to stay on the move and avoid doubling back on yourself. Office is small enough that you can hug the outer walls and find your way around but the second map makes that harder. Just try to cover a lot of ground because it seems random.

Another tip is to always extract when you can even if it's early. You can quickly retry and bank what you've found so far, only exception is if you are doing a disk objective run.
