Sometimes when you sift through your backlog you find something that has you go "Wait when did I get this?"

That's probably how I'd describe this game in a nutshell. Not bad but not exactly memorable either. The most interesting thing about Titan Souls is the central gimmick: Your only weapon is a bow and a single arrow. You can hit a button to have the arrow come back to you but that's about it. You can walk, run, and dodge roll. This simplicity however doesn't translate to bosses. Mostly.

The bosses are more like puzzles than actual fights, made all the more accurate by the fact that like the player they die one hit. So it ends up being a game of figuring out how to hit avoid their attacks and then deliver the killing blow. Some of them are easy, some of them are a fun challenge, and a couple are a pain in the ass. Made even worse by 2 factors: a) the additional modes that increase the difficulty of the game b) most of the bosses can be tackled in any order, meaning you won't know how easy or hard it will be until you fight them. The boss fights and extra modes are the only real content in the game so whether you'll like it or not depends on that. Everything else like the presentation and soundtrack are fine but nothing that strikes me as memorable.

A fine little boss rush styled game. It's not particularly impressive but it's also short and inoffensive. Short enough that you can beat the game in about 2-3 hours on a first playthrough. I give it a thumbs up as I don't think it's a bad game but if the idea of a boss rush game where each fight is a puzzle to solve doesn't appeal to you then treat this as a thumbs down instead. Yes. The boss fights are so central to this game that the recommendation is based on that factor alone.

Pretty chill boss rush. I enjoyed the fights; I just wish there were more geometric-type bosses. I would've loved to see a crazier version of the eye cube boss, something like a dodecahedron or an octahedron boss. Idk, just something that has a geometric formula/rhythm. Overall, it's fun and worth the time.
