Just beat truth on hard mode
Have to say the game was great fun. I mainly played with my friend on skype and we had fun figuring out boss strats and getting kills at about the same pace. I'd have to say I enjoyed the game a lot more than I thought I would especially given the huge number of deaths I had. I don't think it was worth $15 but I'm extreemly cheap (min of 100 hours is my scale to see if the game was worth the price).

I had a lot of trouble with the mushroom and the mimic. I beat almost everything else fairly quickly with the sepant, rolling boulder, spinning fire dude, and plant getting killed within the first few tried. (I struggled with the mask due to not realising you have to pull back from a distance after I found that out I beat him on my 2nd try, I guess I got lucky on normal and got the arrow speed up without realising it)

Truth, the plant, the pressure plate golum, I beat fairly easily after coming up with a strategy while other bosses I either killed without a real strategy or failed many times when trying to execute the startegy.

All in all the game was pretty fun while some things seem like rng I'm faily certain nothing is and each boss has an optimal stat that can beat them within a few seconds of aggroing. (aside from perhaps the chest and mushroom whom you have to 'wait' to be vulnerable)
Anyone know any games similar to this? I like the idea of figure out boss fights and mastering them through trying different strategies and practice. I kinda wanna resub to WoW and start raiding again now. :P

The fact that the bosses can all be beaten via an exact strategy is fantastic. If you go here, then here, roll there, then shoot there, you win. Every time. It makes it feel much more like a puzzle game, rather than building up reflexes or anything. It's trial and error, in a lot of cases, until you find the path you need to walk and the point at which you need to shoot, and I think it feels amazing.

Regarding that action-game-turned-puzzle kind of feel, Hotline Miami also captures it. That's fighting off dozens of gangsters and cops, but it's the same kind of trial and error approach, finding something that definitely works. I do think I like Titan Souls more, though, just because they made it really satisfying to score that killing shot. :P

Yea everything freezing and the "I FINALLY DID IT" feeling is great! I may try hotline miami later, and I think I'm starting to realise how hard it would be to make a game that has both rpg progression and requires lots of strategy.

It is fun but it gets repetitive and boring very quickly. I only managed to keep my interest for Hard mode. I have no time to Iron One and No-Roll will probably kill me because of SUPERSLOW overworld navigation.

Fun little game but I can't say it worth all 15$ tbh.

Yea after this point my only interest in the game right now may be to figure out 'optimal' strats to beat the bosses as fast as possible then recording them and putting a compilation of fast kills on youtube. I don't really have any desire to do iron man, and I don't really want to endure no-roll.

I agree; that's a nice way to put it.

The no-roll is only really tedious during the overworld, and if you just take out a couple Titans at a time, it's tolerable. Not being able to roll during fights absolutely makes them more difficult, but (as with everything else in the game) they're all doable. It changes the rules just enough so that you need to come up with completely different strategies, and I loved that.

Not that I'd do that again, though. :P

Well done. I saw some YT videos and I want to try Hard + Iron mode playthrough. Wish I could buy it full price but I got canned from work recently.
