i don't believe a single creature has so much patience and time to try No-Roll + Hard
But No-Roll + Hard actually isn't allowed by the game. If you have one selected, you can't choose the other. So I guess it actually would've been impossible. lol
I'm still on Hard so I dunno but I'm not seeing what exactly is the problem with Mushroom. It is one of the bosses that can be fast-killed and some projectiles you can absorb (with "side-effects").
There we go. I don't know how much of my movement isn't replicable via 8-directional input, but perhaps it can provide some guidance?
Edit: Oh. The shot itself miiiight not be doable...
He can be beaten. I just done that. For me key was to perform up, left, up, combo before shoot and have some luck. On keyboard in no rolls mode he is the most difficult boss.
