Heavy Bullets

Heavy Bullets

Great game but periodic lag spikes might prevent me from finishing it.
While playing the game every so often (maybe like every 30-60 seconds) the game will just freeze for a split second but holds my last movement input so when the game unfreezes I will be somewhere else. This was manageable (but still annoying) all to the level 8 boss where it finally got me killed. Is there any known ways to fix this problem? I already tried messing around with most of the in game settings.

My specs are:
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i7 2.67ghz quad core
Nvidia GTX 560 Driver version 9.18.13.4411
9GB of ram

This happens constantly? Like if you restart your system and walk around on level 1, does it also happen?
It seems my problem isn't very consistent, last nigth on my level 8 run the spikes were happening pretty consistently as I got further in the game. This morning it seemed to also be happening just walking around level 1, so I messed around with the settings and nothing seemed to fix it so I posted here.

Then I just started up the game again just now to see if I could capture footage of it happening but now it doesn't seem to be spiking consistently and just seems to happen randomly sometimes as I progress through the level.

Ok, thanks I'm doing some research into possible causes, I have a couple ideas to try for next update , hopefully that will fix it. Sorry about that, must be very frustrating specially on level 8
Ya, sometimes when I was trying to sneak around corners to get an angle where I could shoot the helicopter laser bots without aggroing them it would spike, then all of a sudden I'd be in line of sight with 3 of them lol.

Then when going into the final boss room the spikes seemed to get much worse to the point I had no idea what was going on and just fell over dead from running into a bomb plant.

I have lag spikes, too. It's rare, but it happens, and it can be annoying when you're just being attacked by an enemy, particularly a turret.
I knew I wasn't the only one with this issue. The only difference is that it happens a lot less often with me, but still happens. It sucks. I play without Camera Effects and in 1270x720.

Thanks, I haven't been able to reproduce so I'm trying a few different things for next update which should be up early next week.
Same "problem" here. Except it happens very rarely and is only a fraction of a second in my game.

i started to notice this problem too where its like randomly skips like 10 frames. lol. possible memory leak?
I've got the same issue, though I've noticed it seems to be most persistent after level 5.
Not sure if that's just me or not, though.
I'm having the same problem. Like the OP said, it freezes for a split-second about every 30 seconds or so. And if you're unlucky, this can actually get you killed.

You can see it happen at around 19:00 in Jim Sterling's video for the game:

Thanks everyone, I'm trying different things to track this down and fix it.

It's likely to be a GC issue, I get it too, not entirely sure what specific is causing it.

for me its very constant.. it lags for like a split second and then everything is fine can happen anywhere after 10-30 seconds of smooth gameplay. But that split second gets me killed sometimes ahha

Just to further back this claim, I am currently receiving random stutters as well. I tried messing around with settings, but it just seems to occur in random areas. Hope the update rolls out and fixes it! Keep up the great work!
