Bad Controls Still?

This game has a reputation of having bad controls, on various inputs. Personally, I use Mouse/Keyboard (WASD-based keys)... were these controls ever improved? Does the game use WASD or allow for key rebinding?

Bad controls can ruin even the best games! It ruins your interaction with the game- and it kills potential purchases!

they still arent fixed. I literally cant get past the second mission because the speed adjustment literally does not work. Avoid this game like testicular cancer

I know it's an old thread but...

I started playing with M/K and it wasn't good, at all, mostly because of mouse sensitivity. I reached second mission and couldn't take down last 3 pirate ships, so I tried using a controller and I beat that mission at first try. You can also rebind controls now - I say "now" because I read negative reviews talking about that not being available - and if you use Steam Controller Configuration Support, that should be another way too.

I'll play more with the controller before quitting.
