Can original game be paired with HOTA?

For some reason Win11 broke the HoMM3 Complete for me. It is probably the only game being affected by it yet.

Btw. how is W11 after years of open testing by consumers?
I remember that W10 finally good stable ~4 years after release.

I don't know if it is really fair to say it looks even better. Better than the original but from the videos I've seen this version probably still looks a little bit better.

I've gotten steam to launch both HotA and WoG, but I installed the complete version from GoG into the folder after I deleted all the files from the steam version and added the mods from there. Just rename the .exe and launcher.exe to what Steam thinks they should be and you're golden. Probably the maped too, but I haven't tried to launch that from Steam.

I've only seen HotA with HD mods already built in, though, so I'm not sure. Even installing HotA by itself seems to work fine if all you want to do is skirmish or play online.
